Premier Doug Ford's government took sweeping control over Toronto transit through Bill 98 (the Building Homes and Improving Transportation Infrastructure Act). The legislation grants the Ontario Minister of Transportation authority to dictate transit fares, discounts, and service levels, severely reducing the decision-making power of the TTC Board and Toronto City Council.
Please read this nice article regarding the strike which resulted by Doug Ford's idiotic pointless take over after Olivia Chow had a deal that froze our fares and TTC staff seemed content

The @CityBrampton is welcoming a $200,000 investment from @TennisCanada and @Rogers to expand access to tennis and create more opportunities for residents to play year-round at Gore Meadows Community Centre! 🎉
As Chair of Community Services @bramptonparksrec I was so pleased to be part of this announcement:
“Access to recreational amenities directly supports residents’ daily quality of life. Building on the success and strong community uptake of the Rosalea Tennis Dome, and with support from partners like Tennis Canada and Rogers Communications, we are creating more inclusive, high-quality spaces where residents of all ages and abilities can be active, build confidence, strengthen relationships and improve their overall well-being.“
With support for six new tennis, six pickle ball and 2 paddle ball courts and an air-supported dome, this investment will help turn Gore Meadows into a four-season destination for sport, recreation and community activity. It also builds on the City’s ongoing investment in Gore Meadows as a premier recreation destination for residents, families and visitors in #Brampton. 🎾
For residents, it means more chances to stay active close to home. For the community, it means stronger recreation spaces, more local sport opportunities and new stories shaped through play.

This week, we’re celebrating #NursesWeek 💙
As a former healthcare worker, I know firsthand the dedication, compassion, and strength it takes to care for others every single day. I had the pleasure of visiting William Osler Health System’s Brampton Civic Hospital alongside Mayor @patrickbrownont to personally deliver cookies to some of our incredible nurses. 🍪🏥
Nurses are truly the backbone of our healthcare system. They are there for patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments, always providing care, comfort, and support with kindness and professionalism. Their hard work and sacrifices often go unseen, but their impact is felt every single day throughout our community.
Thank you to all of our nurses for everything you do. Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to caring for others do not go unnoticed. We are grateful for you today and every day. #HappyNursesWeek 🩺💙
