Honored to be included on a panel of found footage LEGENDS alongside the directors of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and REC. Last slide is me standing on the very site where the Lumière Brothers first cranked up a camera and shot WORKERS LEAVING THE FACTORY. A helpful reminder that the first film ever shot was about labor. God willing we get to continue that work in the future.

Please join us in welcoming... The New Wave Collective. 👏 A filmmaker grant and mentorship program designed to support and elevate Canadian voices in feature filmmaking. The New Wave Collective provides selected filmmakers with resources, mentorship, + the platform to develop and produce original feature-length works. This grant is for the creation of true micro budget features of any genre. And for our first wave we'll be making TWO of these films... Weird package came to the house.

Stopped into @godmothersbooks the other day and randomly picked up a copy of Eleanor Johnson’s Scream with Me: Horror Films and the Rise of American Feminism. Thumbed through and to my surprise and delight CREEP and CREEP 2 are given a huge chunk of print with a detailed analysis of both films through a feminist lens. The entire book is brilliant and it’s a major honor to be included. Grab a copy!

Deeply grateful that I got the chance to collaborate with this man. I worked with James on the first episode of television I directed. He was kind and fun and professional. His instincts, from wardrobe choices to unexpected dance moves, were dead on. The memory that shines through all of that was his genuine joy and encouragement upon hearing that I was about to become a father. There was no question that his family was the most important thing in his life. There was a spark in his eye whenever he talked about his kids, which was all the time. I’m keeping his big heart in my memory forever.
