you are a human experience not a science experiment! results are great. however how you feel about your efforts and the path you chose to take you there matters more. true depth comes from the moments in life that can only be measured by truly present in them and learning about yourself through the journey of getting there βœŒπŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

the key to jumping back in crow pose is moving forwards. if your upper body follows your feet you have nothing to pick up! taking the chest, shoulders and skull forward can be intimidating at first so start small. single leg step backs and jump back that don’t go all the way back will help build strength and confidence. the goal is to land in a low push up position, which means the elbows will be stacked over the wrists. keep your feet and toes active so they are ready to land as gracefully as possible as you reach the upper body forwards. this transition is essential for many other floating patterns, i hope this helps and have fun practicing! #yogateacher #yogaposes #yogaflow #yogajourney #yogainspiration

active entries into poses like pigeon can make a world of difference when it comes to exploring depth and creating more comfort in the position. by stimulating the muscle before adding leverage our bodies become more trusting of the request and can support the idea with greater ease. this works well for releasing into a passive stretching position or staying active and moving into the space with strength. in pigeon pose here i am supporting the front leg which is creating activations. then katie is rotating in and out of her range based on interest and comfort. she can also work through this on her own by using her hand to create a wall for the front foot. thank you @katiefornataro for being a willing participant and @kathleenpetrulich for catching the action on video! #yogapose #hipmobility #pigeonpose #yogainspiration #yogateachertraining

there are many ways to jump back, here are a few methods i find very effective! 1. threading through by anchoring opposite hand and foot to create a window for freedom of movement. 2. pressing feet into floor to activate your legs and lift the hips before planting the hands. this gives you enough clearance to move smoothly. 3. loading a leg on the shoulder in elephant trunk pose to pass the transition through an arm balance. the loaded leg gives more leverage for elevation! i hope these ideas help, have fun practicing πŸ™πŸΌ #yogateacher #yogapose #yogaflow #armbalance #yogapractice

a few moments from my practice this week πŸ™πŸΌ it has been really nice to explore past inspirations with new eyes and more intentional awareness, these qualities create more peace and acceptance in the pathways of these pursuits. the freedom of simply being and allowing each element to unfold over time feels quite joyful 😊 #yogateacher #yogaflow #yogapose #yogainspiration #yogajourney

a bit of arm balancing from my yoga practice this week, building foundations and playing with new patterns for exploration. qdr is current favorite space for play, there are many places to take the position that open up unique pathways for personalization and creativity πŸ™πŸΌ #yogateacher #yogapose #yogapractice #yogaposes #armbalance

five handstands i have been practicing recently. anytime i bring focus to a specific part of my practice it always reminds me that growth flows where attention goes. my practice always follows my inspirations. this allows me to embrace the seasonal quality of my being and take a bigger part in my personal evolution. coming back into a space of focus with handstands has been very joyful and quite confronting. the awareness to what i am aiming to do still exists yet the awareness and refinement need more fine tuning. coming back to this space helps me appreciate where i’ve been and where i’m going, bringing a bit of balance to the moment. #yogapractice #yogaflow #handstands #handstandpractice #yogajourney

side crow has a lot of space for play and variation that can move you into a more connected practice experience. to build more strength in the pose you can add a rotation in the transition instead of letting the pose sit in isolation as it often does. starting from wide leg forward fold instead of twisted chair creates more natural space for movement. you can take it a step further once in the pose by continuing to rotate over by reaching through the top leg to step into a constantly evolving yet repetitious sequence that will eventually bring you back to your starting position. have fun practicing and let me know how this lands for you! #yogapose #yogapractice #yogaflow #yogateacher #yogalife

to find ease in your handstand developing strength in deep compression is essential! this one of the best set ups to bring it life. having the feet lifted in L changes the focus and allows more activation in the legs which brings the whole body to life. from here you can create more focus on generating output, instead of just trying to lift the feet off the floor. this practice is great on your own or gets even more interesting with a partner! have fun practicing and let me know how it goes ✌🏼 thank you to @martin.flows for being amazing in this demonstration and @colleencas for the video πŸ™πŸΌ #yogateacher #yogapractice #yogapose
