San Francisco Unified School District students enjoyed exploring how far inland coastal flooding could occur in the city with sea level rise over the next 100 years. They stenciled the sidewalks to share their findings. If you see one of these marks in the sidewalk, take a moment to imagine the flooding that could occur! This was a great exercise to help people understand the sheer magnitude of what the city could face in the absence of adaptation!

@krislmay on the @kqed_forum with Ezra Romero and Dana Brechwald talking about the challenges of adapting to sea level rise and rising groundwater. Want to here our conversation? Find it online on KQED’s website.
Just look at that amazing crew manning the Pathways booth! If you missed us, don’t worry, you can see us this fall at AGU 2022! (Without the booth though).
