#CreatorXCreator: Rajat Kapoor shared his take on how Bollywood storytelling has evolved, while in a chat with Vinay Pathak, noting that the industry has slowly moved away from its phase of “gentle heroes.” Referring to legends like Dilip Kumar and Rajesh Khanna, he said they brought a certain emotional softness that is rarely seen today, with the shift beginning after the rise of Amitabh Bachchan’s “angry young man” persona.
He added that Shah Rukh Khan did revive that gentler phase for a while with his romantic image, but feels current cinema leans more towards violence and intensity. Kapoor described it as a broader change in audience taste and storytelling style.
