Vacation Journal entry 2: It started off like any other vacation, nervous that I won’t be getting enough work in, the stress of missing out on someone needing me, the idea that I won’t be able to actually enjoy the time on the island and be disappointed with myself after it’s all said and done. This time I was determined to not let my thoughts be in the way of this trip. I knew I was going to regardless, just hoped it wouldn’t be as bad as previous adventures.

Vacation journal entry 1. Where have I let the time go, these moments flood my emotions and my memory loses grip of them vastly quicker than I can remember . The island has shown me to be more in the moment, to let go of the pain. You did it, you made it out of slums. Let your guard down. There is nothing here to fear.

At a certain point you are gonna have to face what has been lurking, staring at you right in the face the whole time. Was this island really this haunted and evil or am I just focusing on ridding my life of all the negative energy that I only gave attention to those forces? Well you are here now, you’ve given yourself no other choice but to defeat it. So do it, and focus on the good in life because you almost burned yourself out and need rest from the battles you’re faced.

The locals stated if we were to avoid anything, it was the calling of the forest at night. “When you are ready to see what the forest holds at that time, you will know” we were not ready.

Sometimes you just have to let the waves take you where you need to go.

The local natives told us we should live the full experience of the island and try the rare fruit local to land. “Dreams and Nightmares” is about the time we started realize this fruit had some potent side effect.

**UPCOMING EVENT** Post-Orientalism non-profit community is unveiling the ‘Music for Black Sine Wave’ album, the compilation of works from various artists in 2023, in collaboration with the production and distribution label ‘Noise à Noise’. You may become surprised after listening to the album! Or even upset, you may not believe it at all. All because the sounds from the artist would not necessarily be what you usually been familiar with through other media and numerous advertisements. In this series, you are going to listen to pieces by a young artist from Iran, who composes music with a full knowledge and mastery of technology. Artists who may be aware of the knowledge and vision of acclaimed western thinkers in the same way that she or he knows the eastern culture, with open arms to welcome them without any prejudice. Post-Orientalism artists seek art and the monadic subject in an interaction with a public participation, and not in the ethnic, or self separating oppositions.
