Last year, the show's theme celebrated our city! This year we're exploring SCRAPS, bringing together bits of fabric (and people!) in the interest of sustainability and inclusivity

SCRAPS! ✨ PATCH is back, and for this year’s theme, we invite participants to consider what Scraps, or “scrappiness,” means to you. Our call for submissions will open next week, so get your wheels turning, ideas percolating, and join us in celebrating all things scrappy. - - - - - A quick note: while we love our out-of-town quilting friends, PATCH will only be accepting submissions from Hamilton-based quilters.

Meet Paige! 🪡 Paige Boersma is our final volunteer committee member for PATCH, and such an intentional and beautiful quilter! We asked Paige a few things ahead of the show… 📍Neighbourhood? Gibson 💎 Fave local gem? @shopatpinch & @willardsicecream & @nannyandbulls 🧵 What excites you about PATCH? Seeing all the different ways people interpret the concept and the bring it to life through their creativity and vision. 🫠 What’s a sewing mistake you keep making? “Shiny project syndrome” — too many half-finished projects, too little time. Everyone say hi to Paige!👇

I love the radical potential of community-based art projects (everyone can make art, and I want to see it!) 🫠 What’s a sewing mistake you keep making? Always running out of bobbin thread before I’ve realized it. Everyone say hi to Erin!👇

We’re thrilled to collaborate with @plus_create to offer kids’ programming at PATCH! 🧵 They’ll be crafting textile art alongside 30+ incredible handmade quilts (one even made by a participant’s kiddo!). PATCH seeks to celebrate our community for all that it is, and hosting a quilt show in a park means being in a space layered with activity: children playing, dogs out for a walk, and people gathering, playing sports, or passing through to the rail trail. We hope you’ll bring your kids, your friends, your dogs, and your neighbours — young and old — to experience the softness and resilience of handmade textiles. Three more sleeps ‘til PATCH! ✨ #HamOnt

In just a few days, Corktown Park will be filled with colour! We can’t wait to showcase 30+ quilts, hung from the walls of the basketball court, turning the park into an outdoor gallery for you to explore. We invite you to experience this space differently — through colour, texture, memory, and the quiet beauty of collective craft. See you on Sunday! ☀️ #HamOnt #HamOntSews
