#tacticaltuesday - Tactics in the Bible: In Joshua chapter 7, the Israelites had just defeated the city of Jericho in an epic battle where the huge walls of the city came crumbling down. So the Israelites tried to maintain their momentum and went on to battle with the city of Ai. This should have been an easy battle for the Israelites, but they were miserably defeated. Joshua was so stunned by the loss and cried out to God. God told Joshua that Israel had stolen from God by taking some of the plunder that belonged to God back in Jericho so God allowed them to be defeated in Ai. We can either do things our own way or God’s way. When we do things God’s way, He is with us. When we do things our own way, He is not with us. You can’t have both. When the Israelites did things God’s way, they won an epic battle. When they wanted to do things their own way and stole from God, they failed and lost a battle that should have been easily won. Do things God’s way. Follow Christ with your whole heart, not just part of it. Give it all to Him and He will do amazing things through you.
