This year's Legacy Luncheon reminded us why this work matters.
We gathered with some of our most dedicated donors, friends, and community members to celebrate the power of planned giving and the lasting impact it creates right here in the San Gabriel Valley. The room was full of people who believe in building something bigger than themselves.
To everyone who joined us: thank you for being part of this community and for the legacy you are helping to write.

A path home for 20 Altadena families 💛
The Altadena Builds Back Foundation has announced a $500,000 grant to The Change Reaction to support remediation and repair services for Eaton Fire survivors whose homes are still standing but need critical repairs before families can return.
This is great news, as for many families the hardest part of recovery isn’t just rebuilding, but closing the financial gap insurance doesn’t cover.
Support like this helps turn uncertainty into progress and brings more Altadena families one step closer to coming home 🫂

What do Eaton Fire survivors need in April 2026?
At a recent listening session we hosted, nonprofit partners shared what they’re seeing on the ground: people still living in tents, families facing isolation, communities navigating challenges they may not even realize have solutions.
The nonprofit network responding to these needs is strong, with organizations stepping up through direct services, advocacy, legal support, community care, and more. Convenings like this help keep recovery connected.
As our President and CEO Miguel A. Santana shared:
“We may feel sometimes that we don’t have power, but don’t be fooled—this room is powerful.”
Recovery is ongoing. And it takes all of us.
Special thanks to @1968soulpower for opening the event with a powerful drumming performance that grounded the room in community and reflection.

💫 Strengthening Pasadena’s Creative Community 💫
Twenty-eight local arts & culture nonprofits received vital funding from Pasadena Community Foundation in late 2025, including emerging orgs and long‑standing cultural anchors.
These grants arrive at a critical moment as arts organizations face ongoing financial and operational challenges following the pandemic and the Eaton Fire. PCF recognizes that their work remains essential to community healing and connection.
We are so proud to provide flexible support through our annual Arts & Culture Grant Program. Together with our donors, PCF helps keep the Greater Pasadena arts community strong, accessible, and resilient.

Pasadena Community Foundation and the Altadena Builds Back Foundation have released the 2025 Impact Report, reflecting the first year of Eaton Fire recovery and the collective effort that made this progress possible. 🫶🏻
With the support of donors, community partners, and frontline nonprofits, more than $24 million in PCF funding has helped families find stability, supported childcare providers as they reopened their doors, strengthened mental health services, and provided rapid assistance during the most difficult moments. Every step forward belongs to the organizations and individuals who showed up for their neighbors.
We all know that recovery is far from over. Our nonprofit partners continue to uplift the work of rebuilding and restoration, and their dedication will shape the years ahead.
The 2025 Impact Report shares both the progress made and the needs that remain as our community moves toward long‑term recovery.

Remediation is a critical step in rebuilding and restoring fire-damaged homes so families can return safely. This involves cleanup, testing, decontamination, and restoration so families can safely live in their homes.
But remediation's high cost and limited insurance coverage prevent many survivors from returning home.
Roughly one in five survivors with standing homes haven’t been able to have their homes tested for contaminants. Of homes that have been tested, 70% have unacceptable contaminant levels, according to @departmentofangels ’ January 2026 Fire Recovery Report.
To help alleviate this financial burden, the Altadena Builds Back Foundation (ABBF) is partnering with @the_changereaction to provide remediation services to Eaton Fire survivors.
The funds from this grant will help at least 20 families return home to Altadena. ❤️

On January 7, 2026, A Concert for Altadena did more than just bring our community together in remembrance: its proceeds set in motion a significant grant from our supporting organization, the Altadena Builds Back Foundation (ABBF), that will bring 20 families home. Today, in partnership with @the_changereaction , ABBF announces a $500,000 grant to support remediation for Eaton Fire survivors in Altadena.
The Change Reaction is taking this impact even further with a dollar-for-dollar match that will double the impact of ABBF’s $500,000 grant, bringing the total funding amount to $1 million.
ABBF is grateful to the concert organizers and performers — especially @dawestheband and @erickrasno — and to The Change Reaction for leveraging this grant to maximize community impact. Thank you for helping Altadena families return home safely!

Pasadena Community Foundation staff members Staci and Candice joined some dynamite fundraisers on Saturday night - the young women behind the second annual @skateforla !
Students at @maranathahighschool and @westridgeschool School, these teens from the @skatepasadena are raising fire relief funds for PCF's Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund, Pasadena Educational Foundation and Altadena Girls. With food, a DJ, community, and great exercise, the evening was a huge success. 👏🏻
PCF appreciates the dedication of these young philanthropists! 💫🫶🏻
Exciting news! 🎉
We’re honored to announce that the Altadena Builds Back Foundation has provided a $500,000 grant to @thefoothillcatalog to help Eaton Fire survivors rebuild their homes.
ABBF’s grant will enable the Foothill Catalog Foundation to support upward of 50 families who might otherwise be unable to rebuild. Foothill Catalog’s preapproved designs can reduce pre-construction costs by up to 95% and significantly shorten construction timelines — while also helping to preserve Altadena’s architectural identity and cultural heritage.
ABBF is proud to support community organizations like The Foothill Catalog Foundation that are streamlining the rebuild process and bringing families home faster. ❤️🏡
