We couldnāt be prouder of LOLLIPOP, and of Daisy-May, Posy, Idil and all of our cast, HoDs and crew, for winning the Talent of Tomorrow award at Dinard Festival of Film in France, as voted for by a youth jury. Earlier this week we had soldout Q&A screenings in Nottingham, Leicester & a special event with @cleanbrk . The amazing love for Lollipop has also continued in the press with BBC News interviewing writer director Daisy-May Hudson along with stars Posy Sterling and Idil Ahmed yesterday. Tonight you can catch a final Q&A screening with Posy at @thegardencinema in London!
When young mum Molly (Posy Sterling) is released from prison after serving four months, she assumes it will be a matter of hours before she can pick up her children from foster care. Instead, Molly finds herself in the mother of all catch-22s: she canāt get housing because she doesnāt have her kids living with her; but she canāt get them back without a roof over her head. When Molly reconnects with her childhood friend, and fellow single mother, Amina (Idil Ahmed), the two women join forces and take destiny into their own hands.

Being a big feeler of feelings, what Iām experiencing right now truly transcends language - but Iāll do my best to put it into wordsā¦
On the Lollipop press tour, Iāve had the most incredible people come up to me and share their stories - how the film made them feel seen. Itās given me an even deeper sense of pride in what we all created together.
Then came the Midlands.
We had a Q&A screening first in Notts @broadwaycinema and then a sold-out homecoming in Leicester at the @phoenixleic big screen. I felt so proud, knowing so many of my people were in one room.
What I didnāt expect was what unfolded during the Q&A.
In that audience were individuals from across the sector - a charity supporting families of prisoners, a Crown Court judge, people working in foster and social care.
We were all under one roof, and something shifted. The Q&A became a discussion. Real connection was happening. This wasnāt about performance anymore - this was about community, shared feeling, and collective understanding.
I believe this space was created because of @daisymay_hudson ās non-judgemental lens. The film doesnāt point fingers - it opens hearts. And in that openness, thereās room to find solutions together. Not through blame. But through feeling.
Thank you for feeling with us.
It was mentioned multiple times that LOLLIPOP should be shown to MPs, to everyone training in the sector, to every Crown Court judge. Because for many mothers, the sentence doesnāt end with prison. It lasts a lifetime. And their children serve it too.
Thatās the magic of cinema.
We gather for a brief moment, and if we allow ourselves to truly feel - we can leave changed.
That change continues in the conversations afterwards. In people connecting - whether by relating, or by wanting to understand more deeply.
If you havenāt seen Lollipop yet:
Come feel with us.
I promise it will shift something in you.
And I havenāt even mentioned the LOVE + JOYā¦
This is a love letter to women.
To mothers.
To sisterhood.
I love you all - and all the ones before us.
I feel you too.
