Colony House just played their biggest show yet, and I had the honor of being in the room when it happened.
For almost 10 years Iāve been seeing these guys play stages all over (see: on street in Albany, the Opry, Gulf of Mexico, New Jerseyā¦) and I am here to report, this was indeed their giant.
Thousands of people made their way to the same place Saturday night, from everywhere. EV ERY WHERE.
All came to see these guys do what theyāre destined to do.
To rock.
To slay it.
To shine a little light.
To remind us all to be kind to one another.
To sweat and pour their heart & souls into their work.
And they delivered.
Of course they did.
Thereās something special about Colony House shows.
They sure do know how to make any room feel like a home with an open door.
No one is a true stranger, Just an old friend.
Long live Colony House, patrons of Light - Shredders by night.

In 2020, @parkecottrell posted a simple video saying he had some downtime between tours with @colonyhouse and was open to producing a project or two. I texted him immediately.
Iād been quietly writing a new collection of songsāunsure of what they were or what they could becomeābut I knew I needed someone who could help me find a fresh sound. Within minutes, Parke texted back: āIām in.ā
Over the next two years, we worked side by side. Iād send rough ideas, and heād send back these stunning demos that took the music somewhere completely newāsomewhere beautiful. Parke is not only one of the most gifted musicians Iāve ever met, but also one of the most humble, gracious people you could ever hope to work with.
Iāll never forget sending him a rough work tape of āLight on the Other Side.ā I loved the song but had no idea what direction it should take. Two hours later, Parke replied with a fully produced demoādrums, bass, keys, guitars. We ended up keeping most of what he played that day because it was so real, so raw, and so right.
Parke became the voice I needed in my head during a season when I wasnāt sure if I should keep writing or recording at all. I wasnāt touring much anymore, and I was questioning what was next. But his steady encouragement and creative spirit inspired me to keep going.
To this day, I still send him song ideas just to hear his thoughts. Iām endlessly grateful for his friendship, his artistry, and the way he helped breathe new life into my music.
Lucky to have worked with himāand luckier to call him a friend.
