19 athletes won gold medals from 7 countries at the 2025 Para Climbing World Championships in Seoul.
The USA topped the Para Climbing medal table with 12 medals, including 5 golds. Melissa Ruiz won gold in women’s RP1. Seneida Biendarra won in women’s B2 and Linn Poston in women’s B3. In RP2, Brayden Butler and Emily Seelenfreund both won golds.
Japan won 10 medals, including 4 golds. Sho Aita and Hiromi Aoki won in B1. Kazuhiko Yamashita won gold in men’s RP3 in only his second competition. Nobuhiro Yasuraoka won an unexpected gold in AU3.
France won 7 medals, including 4 gold medals, all in Paralympic classes. Solenne Piret won gold in women’s AU2, finishing 20 holds higher than Lucia Capovilla in second place. Lucie Jarrige and Thierry Delraue won gold in AL2, continuing their unbeaten records. Aloïs Pottier won the gold in RP1.
Germany, Romania, Austria, and Brazil split the remaining six gold medals.
Razvan Nedu won gold in men’s B2 and Cosmin Florin Candoi in men’s B3 for Romania.
Rosalie Schaupert won gold in women’s AU3, and Kevin Bartke won gold in men’s AU2 for Germany.
Angelino Zeller from Austria won gold in the mixed AL1 class.
Marina Dias won gold for Brazil in women’s RP3 for the second time. She won in Bern back in 2023.
The finals used a split field format. On the first day, 11 classes competed, and 8 classes took part on the second day. This was a great success. It was easier both in person and on the live stream to focus on each athlete during the finals.
On the 24th - 26th October, there are two Para Climbing events happening. Laval, France, will host the next Para Climbing World Cup, and Japan will hold the Para Climbing Master Fukuoka 2025.

🇰🇷Seoul greeted us with an energy and warmth that surpassed any expectations, which we may have had.
🇵🇱 the vibe of this year’s @ifsclimbing para climbing championships had one main theme TEAM SPIRIT. And that is what team Poland is. We are a team. We support each other and give everything. We learnt a lot from the competition and will head back to Poland so much richer for this experience.

Qualifications, IFSC World Championships, Seoul 2025
We've had a good run on Saturday, with one route topped. On the other route, I reached for the top, but with a bit of rain, it was slippery and I fell.
The finals are tomorrow and you can catch us live on @ifsclimbing Youtube from 13:30 local time, 7:30am Romania time.
@romaniaparaclimbingteam is represented at B3 class by myself and @andreidan2001 and at B2 class by @nedurazvan and we're hoping to bring back as many medalls as possible!
