I started coming to NY with my mom in the early to mid 2000s. We had a blast running around soho together and trips mostly involved eating and shopping. We never visited any of the tourist attractions. Bape on greene street, BBC on West Broadway, Union on spring, Alife on Rivington, Stussy on Wooster, Supreme on Lafayette… those were my landmarks and at the center of it all was Nigo. The level of detail that was put into everything that he did from the retail experience, the clothes, the packaging to the way he designed his life blew my mind and continues to be a huge source of inspiration for me
Thank you @julesgayton for taking me through the @joopiterofficial x @nigo auction and breaking down the history of each lot. Seeing these items with my own eyes after years of seeing them online, or in books and magazines was an unforgettable experience.
