So, the news is out — we’re opening a pub. 🍻
The menus are being written up and tested, the designer has worked her magic touch on the space, and the builders are in — pulling out the old teeth to make way for the golden ones.
We’re aiming to open late April, which means we’re now building the team, from the ground up.
We’re looking for hardworking, passionate people to join us across all sections. Experience in new openings helps (you’ll know it’s a different beast), but passion and a keen eye for detail matters just as much. Your input will matter in shaping this pub into a cornerstone of east London haunts.
So, we’re looking for..
Kitchen:
Sous Chef / Chef de Partie / Commis / KP
Front of House
Waiters / Waitresses — high standards, Knowledge of proper steps of service, but of course bringing your own personality.
Bar:
Cocktail Bartenders — seasonal, ingredient-led, working closely with the kitchen
Bar Staff — perfect pints, attentive, charming

Announcement!
Papi is closing, our final service will be on Saturday the 7th of March. Just after our 4th trip around the sun. (Expect a massive party btw, details to follow).
This is bitter sweet news for us. Whilst we will be very much in our feels about departing from our little corner of London Fields, we are also thrilled to turn our hands to a new and very exciting project currently coming very soon!
C.S.Lewis once said, “You don’t need soup, You are soup, You have a Body,” If it helps, you don’t need Papi, you are Papi. Each and every one of you! We have thrived within shared ownership and community. Papi has only been possible because of you, this is as much yours as it is ours.
The next couple of months will be a celebration of all things Papi. We’ll be revisiting classic dishes and reaching out to our successful chef collaborations for as part of some of the events planned in our final bit.
We will be back soon with a new name and quite a fancy new home but please come and see Papi out in style in it’s beloved form as we know it: Take your last photo in our red bathroom, eat one final potato bun, enjoy one last buck-a-shuck oyster.
We’d like to take this moment to thank everyone involved, however large or small. From our incredible suppliers, our incredible team (with a special mention to staff no longer with us) and our beautiful and majestic customers who have helped since day one to shape this dream into a reality.

£1 OYSTERS RETURNS! Tuesday - Thursday! Roll up! Roll up!
The people have spoken and buck-a-shuck will return from tomorrow, every Tuesday to Thursday for the next few months!
‘But what about fried chicken?’ You cry! Fried chicken will be on the menu but it won’t be £1 because if everything is £1 we’d close and then nothing would be £1.

Smoked oxe tongue glazed in cooking juices, burger cheese, pickled cabbage, ferment hot sauce and Aioli.
It’s on the bar menu today for simply £11, you’ll also get to see Louis grinning face flying around the restaurant and @drew.snaith is in the kitchen as evidenced by 3rd pic.
It’s very much all to play for
Imagine you’re propping up this bar, holding a pint, left hand deep in a packet of scratchings and you’re just absolutely laughing your nut off for hours.

A new series where we delve into the wine list here at The Golden Tooth nervously narrated by Charlie!
It’s an essentially the ramblings of someone who hasn’t thought about what they want to say before filming and hasn’t been told not to look directly into the camera. Each week we’ll look at a different aspect of the list, new wines by the glass and play host to a few special guests!
First a little back ground about the wine list, whose focus is on English natural wine, but it doesn’t end there! There’s plenty for everyone, it just might not be from a producer you’ve heard of, but that’s the fun of it!

Wake up! Wake up! It’s week three! Like a young eagle our confidence is growing as we take to the skies for another week at The Golden Tooth. This week expect to see a few dishes on the menu, a brand new wines list, Taytos behind the bar, including salt and vinegar flavour, and the sort of atmosphere that will make you say, ‘hey I feel elegant but I’m also up for a good time.’
