Hey there, Panimation friends! Long time no speak 👀
We’ve been taking a little hiatus from Instagram while we reconsider how to best use this platform amidst the algorithm craze.
While we brew new ideas and plans, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting a community chat at Pictoplasma this year!
All women, trans and non-binary event attendees are invited to join us on Saturday, May 3, from 14:30 to 16:00. It will be a cosy and intimate gathering to reflect and discuss the industry’s status quo, how things have been lately and what is needed (and wanted!) going forward – hosted by the Panimation founders Bee Grandinetti, Hedvig Ahlberg and Linn Fritz.
It feels like forever since we organized a hang like this, so we’re EXCITED!
See you there for chats, hugs and sunny laughs amongst old and new friends! 😎✨💛
- Day 7 - Hey everyone - @bekki.leahy here for the final day of my takeover! ☀️☀️
Today I'm signing off with a small selection of personal work that I've created recently.
Big thank you to @panimation.tv for the opportunity to share my work this week and to the one and only @fridulph for recommending me!
Thank you to all of you who followed along and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday! ✨
- Day 6 - Hello everyone - @bekki.leahy here for day 6!! Today I thought it would be very fitting to share this little animation I created with you as according to the meteorological calendar it is officially Spring!
For some, that may mean sunshine. However here in England that often means, rain. Today I actually woke up to snow so maybe I need to go back and re-do this...
Happy Saturday ! ☂️☂️☂️
- Day 5 - @bekki.leahy here for day 5! ☀️ Today I want to share this recent little downtime project I've been working on.
This is a self initiated project imagining what it would be like if chocolate bars could move!
I've recently been experimenting a lot with my illustration style. One thing that inspires me a lot is nature and being outdoors and I felt this was a great opportunity to combine those things. Naturally, I couldn't help myself but bring these creatures to life!
Swipe for some of my initial (early) sketches.
I'd love to hear what inspires you to create !
- Day 4 - Hey everyone, it's @bekki.leahy here for day 4! 🌼 Today I would like to share a little breakdown of an animation I did last year!
This animation was created as a bit of a challenge for myself. I really wanted to push my character animation skills in After Effects so I very quickly designed this character!
One of the main questions I was asked during my time at Animade from the one and only @fridulph was 'what is driving the motion'. This is something that now plays on repeat in my head whenever I'm animating and something I really wanted to push when I was doing this!
I'm thinking of making some more videos like this in future so let me know if you found this helpful ! ✨
- Day 3 - Hey everyone @bekki.leahy here for day 3! 🌶️
Recently, I have been busy involving myself in a number of creative challenges set by the wonderful @inkygoodness .
This particular challenge was to create a hot sauce label for a family owned business named 'Rita Lita'. I wanted to capture the organic ingredients and family values that the imaginary company was founded on.
Taking part in challenges has been such a great way to motivate myself to create personal work alongside client work. Not only this, but being in a community of other creatives helps me to continuously challenge and push myself!
Thanks so much to lovely people at @wonderkindco for this fantastic challenge.
Would love to hear how you manage personal work alongside client work!
- Day 2 - Hey everyone @bekki.leahy here - kicking off day 2 with a little throwback!✨
I really wanted to share this project (swipe for the full video!) with you as it was one of the first things I created whilst I was at Animade and it was a huuuge learning curve for me.
When I first started I was pretty clueless about how to properly animate. I was mostly self taught and didn’t really know a lot about animation fundamentals etc. Having the opportunity to concept, design, storyboard and animate something with music was a slightly mind boggling experience but one I am so grateful for!
The theme of the animation was to celebrate International women’s day. I really liked the idea of a bunch of characters celebrating everything that made them unique and ‘boogying to their own beat’. In a way it was quite fitting as often I have felt a little insecure that I didn't go into animation in the 'traditional' way. But now, I choose to celebrate my unique journey!
All of the typography was designed by super talented @by.eilidh . I would have been absolutely lost without help from @fridulph@jessmountfield and @mushlets_workshop so thank you all for your skills!

-Day 1 - Hi everyone! For my first post I thought it would only be fitting so share my latest reel with you - along with a few little characters I created for it! ✨ ✏️
Funnily enough, there’s already quite a lot of things I would change about it. Recently I finished taking part in a 12 week course with @inkygoodness called Make Your Mark. It has allowed me to question things like personal style and the kind of work I am most drawn to. Especially in terms of design style, I no longer feel like my reel best represents me. But in a way, that’s a good thing as it shows growth!
Curious to know what kind of barriers (if any) have stopped you from finding your own style? For me, self doubt and being too easily swayed by social media has been something I’ve been working really hard to change!
Hey everyone ! It's @bekki.leahy here and I'm so excited to be doing this week's takeover !
✏️ I'm a freelance 2d After Effects animator and designer currently based in Bristol. I'm a big fan of animating characters and creating all things bright and colourful.
🖥️ Previously a creative at Animade, I have had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented people and over the last few years I have been working on elevating my animation and design skills.
🍃 If I'm not animating you can generally find me outside climbing, surfing or taking my dog, Maple on an adventure.
✨This week I'll be sharing some of my favourite projects, a couple things I've learnt along the way and some sneaky peak breakdowns. Can't wait to get started !
