AGON, a Venice prize-winning film by director Giulio Bertelli, is a visceral portrait of contemporary professional sports. Streaming worldwide exclusively on @mubi , the original soundtrack composed by @_tomwheatley_ is coming out on PAN soon. The first single ‘LUDOJ’ is out now! https://pan.lnk.to/AGON /en/pan_agon Giulio Bertelli’s AGON renders a unique view of competitive sport through a fictional Olympic Games, LUDOJ 2024. Mastered by Rashad Prize (International Federation of Film Critics) the film is a triptych of three female athletes preparing for Olympic competition, that conjures a fiction via the techniques of documentary. Wheatley’s soundtrack is the exacting ear to its exacting eye, his score reflects the film’s hyper-focus on the gesture and interiority of sports performance, acting as punctuation, mirror, and an extension of Bertelli’s film that embeds further connections between its themes and intentions.  Crucial for the soundtrack was a theme for the imagined Olympics, but LUDOJ is a non-place without nationality, and Olympic themes often take cue from national stereotypes. Wheatley’s LUDOJ jingle, and the sound bed in the cue LUDOJ (commentary) instead rendered a glassy flatness, reflective of the non-place in which the film happens, where we rarely see any identifying features of a landscape and instead see macro shots representative of the blinkered focus of the athletes, where we rarely see into any distance.   AGON premiered at Venice Film Festival 2025, was awarded the Luciano Sovena Award for Best Independent Production, and the FIPRESCI Award (International Federation of Film Critics). It is a MUBI/Match Factory production. credits Written & composed by Tom Wheatley Bagpipes by Harry Górski-Brown Percussion by Seijiro Murayama Cello by Ute Kanngiesser Saxophone by Jean-Luc Guionnet Feedback Synthesizer by Grundik Kasyansky Recorded by Matt Jaggar at Konk Studios, London Additional mixing by Matt Jaggar and Tommaso Barbaro Additional editing by Tommaso Barbaro Mastered by Rashad Becker

upsammy & Valentina Magaletti ‘Seismo’ (PAN 161) @upsammy_ @valentina_magaletti ~ out now! A shiver of mischievous vocal snippets, disorienting rhythms and collapsing sonic architectures, upsammy and Valentina Magaletti’s first collaborative album prioritizes motion, modulation and variance. The seeds of ‘Seismo’ were sown following a commission from Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum to soundtrack an exhibition of work from the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam and the duo didn’t want to approach their collaboration flippantly. So, wandering the museum’s maze of rooms, they recorded various improvised percussive sounds with their arsenal of microphones, using the space to inform various rhythms and textures that were sculpted later into electroacoustic vignettes. This was just the starting point, though; as Magaletti and upsammy began performing together, the project evolved and ‘Seismo’ began to take shape. The duo had struck on a salient aesthetic concept, using mostly digital and acoustic mallet instruments to blur the boundary between their roles and create friction between the synthetic and the authentic. And the finished record is a phantasmagoric push-and-pull between its various conflicting elements: harmony and dissonance, randomness and predictability, openness and constraint. It’s a collaboration that sounds like two minds challenging each other but not wrestling, each peering from their own distinct vantage point and imagining a third landscape shaped by optimistic, queer vibrations. Jenna Sutela ‘Pond Brain’ (PAN 162) Lathe-cut record @jennasutela presents ‘With each cycle, a brain’, her debut solo show in the UK at the @nicolettafioruccifoundation in London opening today until the 23rd of May 2026, curated by @vittoria.totale . The opening is accompanied by a very limited art edition lathe-cut of 70 unique resin records with pond flora inside as part of PAN’s Entopia soundtrack series. Since the grooves are malleable, each play sounds different. The exhibition includes a site-specific iteration of Pond Brain, a sculptural sound installation, at once instrument and fountain, inspired by ‘alt’ cybernetic ideas about ponds as self-regulating, living systems. The water-filled bronze piece, forged as the artist’s neuroplastic portrait, resembles a spouting bowl orchestrating feedback loops of sonic vibrations and dancing droplets. A microphone listens to its splashes, chance events in the room, and recordings of Sutela playing it, setting into motion an ever-changing sound environment generated from oceanic and interplanetary audio libraries: star pulses, dolphin vocalizations, and beyond. Thank you @victorrileys for software and sound engineering, @enyang_ha for recording, and @villehaimala for mixing. Mastered, cast, and cut by @disc_archive in Berlin. Text by @ambiencontent , graphic design by @pwr.site Produced with the support of the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation on the occasion of Sutela’s solo exhibition With each cycle, a brain at the Nicoletta Fiorucci Foundation, London, curated by Vittoria de Franchis, 2026. Further support provided by Frame Contemporary Art Finland. Pond Brain, the installation, was co-commissioned by Helsinki Biennial and Copenhagen Contemporary, 2023.

GÍRIA, the name of RHR’s (@rhrmusiq ) new EP, is more than a word. Meaning ‘slang’ in Brazilian Portuguese, GÍRIA is a way of subverting language, hiding meanings and creating shared codes for those who know how to read them. The name also echoes the word ‘girar’ [to spin]. The entire concept revolves around movement: circular motion, spiraling energy and the idea of returning to the same point transformed. Rooted in Brazilian circular musical traditions, GÍRIA is collective motion. Out this Friday, March 6. TRITON, installation views at ECHOES. Skin Contact, @haus_der_kunst München, 2026. Curated by Sarah Miles @sarahmilesoo  and Sarah Johanna Theurer @sarahjohanna.t Special thanks to Andrea Lissoni @andrea.lissoni and team. 📸 Milena Wojhan @milena.wojhan TRITON is a cross-media project by Invernomuto that combines sculpture, sound, and storytelling, developing through collaborations, performances, and a listening platform. Conceived as a sentient and portable device, Triton is attuned to a real colony of amphibians, salamanders living in two ancient rock basins in Pietra Perduca, northern Italy. At ECHOES, the project is brought to life as a sound environment shaped by the data flow of a livestream camera. It connects Haus der Kunst with the mythical amphibian colony in the rocks of northern Italy, functioning simultaneously as a musical instrument and an oracle, and suggesting an alternative way of listening to non-human worlds. 𓂃 𓈒𓏸 A project by Invernomuto Programming and Hardware Components: ATELIER-E @atelier__e__ , Constantin Engelmann @nitnatsnocnnamlegne , Lukas Esser @lukasesser Music Software Programming and Sound Design: Luca Mucci @piezopz Visual Identity, Strategy and Web Development: To New Entities @tonewentities , Darius Ou @darius_ou , OKOK Services @okok.services Glass: 6AM @6am_glass TRITON is commissioned by Haus der Kunst München @haus_der_kunst  and supported by the Italian Council (2024), promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture @creativita_contemporanea , with the support of PAN @pan__hq 𓂃 𓈒𓏸 triton.invernomuto.info

The friction of meaning. GÍRIA EP by RHR (@rhrmusiq ) is coming out on March 6. A system of signs that only becomes legible through collective knowledge. Following the release of ‘En-Giro’, RHR returns with a study on movement and transformation. GÍRIA explores intense sound design and aggressive engineering as a means of locating the body within sound. GÍRIA is a form of encryption born from community and shared codes. It is the word that creates worlds, the spin that reshapes the path. Steven Warwick ‘Live at Cafe Oto’ (PAN 163), new cassette out now! Stripped down to minimal instrumentation and raw nerve, Steven Warwick’s first release since 2019’s ‘MOI’ captures something singular in his approach.

Anyone who has caught his live shows as Heatsick or under his own name can testify his method of using limited means to achieve maximalist hypnotic effect. Accompanied by Jon Davies (@keplamusic ) on piano, with Warwick on melodica, percussion, drum machine and vocals, the duo transform familiar material from Nadir and MOI into something altogether looser, more visceral and kaleidoscopic. Recorded in 2023, the performance captures a pivotal moment; Warwick delving back into the joy of improvising through his recent catalogue while debuting new material in its most unguarded, jammed out bliss state. “Salvation” sheds its hi-energy runway skin to become a melancholic, gospel-intoned ballad. “The Mezzanine” expands from skeletal electronic monologue into crescendoing piano sprawl. “Over There” takes on a 2 step jazz cafe mood , while “Kind of Blue” reveals deceptive simplicity. The approach is paradoxical: strip each song to its bare minimum, then let it swell into maximalist, hypnotic spirals. The new material pushes even further into uncharted territory. Opening epic “The Grotesque,” reworked from a performance text, sets the tone. “Going” channels Les Rallizes Dénudés’ scuzz ecstasy and spiritual yearnings. “O Solomon!” evokes Leonard Cohen and This Mortal Coil, while “Millennial Vague” receives its first ever live performance. Warwick has always had his subtle camp and theatrics, weaving hypnotic loops like a circus hand plate spinner, anchored by the calm reassuring voice of a campside fire recital. In the intimate setting of Cafe Oto, the set is allowed to simultaneously unfold over the course of an hour while tapping into theatres of eternal music intertwined with a pop sensibility. It’s Warwick at his most unguarded: the mischief is still there, but this time it belies something more tender. An essential document of things to come. Florian Hecker new full-length album, ‘Natural Selection’, out via PAN now. 💿 Unlike much of Florian Hecker’s recent work, such as 2021’s ‘Synopsis Seriation’ or ‘Hecker Leckey Sound Voice Chimera’, his acclaimed PAN-released collaboration with Mark Leckey, there’s no single overarching narrative that binds ‘Natural Selection’. Hecker describes the sprawling, nine-track album as a “constellation of pieces originating from related investigations”, and the clue’s in the title. Ranging from under a minute to over half an hour, these works have been grouped together because they share very specific properties, using correlated modes of synthesis and approaching timbral metamorphosis in a similar way. Pieces that might seem incongruous at first are united not by one concept, but by a cluster of queries that Hecker has been probing diligently for the last few years, ideas related to automated file selection, database-generating sequencing systems and the prospect of synthetic cognition. They were written in parallel with a range of Hecker’s recent multi-disciplinary inquiries: 2022’s Galerie Neu exhibition TEMPLEXTURES, that examined machine listening and charted uncategorizable auditory sensations; 2021’s diffusion of olfactory sonics and evaluation of the perception of space ‘RESYNTHESIZSERS’; and ‘INSPECTION’, an algorithmic reconstruction of sounds that uses human hearing to parse their vital timbral characteristics. But ‘Natural Selection’ doesn’t require any rigorous background study. In fact, it’s one of Hecker’s most playful and approachable sets in years, exhibiting the same balance of intensity, mischief and brain-twisting theory that made albums like ‘Sun Pandämonium’ and ‘Acid in the Style of David Tudor’ so enduringly influential.
