As I reflect on the past year, I feel so grateful to have what feels like the best job in the world not only during the ups, but also the downs. It has been a transformative year for me on and off the anchor desk... going on the Colbert Show, launching the new Situation Room with @wolfblitzer , going out to tell important stories like in Texas during the deadly floods, interviewing Pete Hegseth's pastor in Idaho that garnered tens of millions of views after Hegseth retweeted it (and my face becoming a meme!), interviewing comedian Nathan Fielder that also went viral, delving into how AI chat bots are influencing people's lives plus a deeper look at why boys and men are falling behind in society, and how cell phone bans are impacting kids in school. As I look toward 2026, I can't wait to share more about the Christian Nationalist documentary I've been working on + an exciting new women's health initiative I've been crafting behind the scenes with an amazing team. Now off to Aspen to moderate a convo with @nataliecrawfordmd on women's health and fertility for the @aspeninstitute . Onward to 2026! šŖā¤ļø Special shout out to my hard working partner through it all @shoshanadubnow_cnn
Country music star @ericchurchmusic utilized his guitar to deliver a heartwarming commencement address to the graduates of UNC Chapel Hill.
Church tells CNN's @wolfblitzer and @pamelabrowncnn how the idea was born.
Country music singer and songwriter @ericchurchmusic is going viral for his commencement address to students at UNC Chapel Hill (my alma mater!) If this somehow hasnāt crossed your feed yet, he used his musical talents to deliver his message to the students about living a full life. šø I was honored to speak to him with @wolfblitzer on our show today to learn how the idea was born and if he expected such an enthusiastic response to it.
Donāt tell @lucyblitzbrown but weāve got a very special guest joining us on set today⦠tune in at 11:50am to meet the cutest mascot in the MLB @natspup@nationals ā¾ļø
The morning she was diagnosed with lung cancer, @shiraboehler ran 6 miles. She had never smoked a cigarette in her life and her dad is a lung doctor. So when she got the news, she thought there had to have been a mistake. Now in remission, sheās on a mission to spread the word about increasing lung cancer diagnoses in younger women. The disease kills more women than breast and ovarian cancer combined. She joined me today (yes, for a second #womenshealthwatch segment!) to discuss how early detection could save lives.
1 in 10 women have PMOS, but a misunderstanding of the name and its symptoms has led to severe underdiagnosis. The new name, which stands for Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, aims to underscore that itās not simply a condition targeted in the ovaries, but a metabolic and hormonal disorder that can affect the whole body. Dr. Leana Wen joined me to discuss why the renaming is so significant and how she hopes itāll impact womenās health more broadly. #womenshealthwatch
Why do women make up two-thirds of Americans diagnosed with Alzheimerās? Itās a question that @mariashriver is trying to get answered through her work with the Women Alzheimerās Movement through the Cleveland Clinic. We discussed her work with the clinic and the findings from her recent report on the state of womenās health on my show today... Spoiler alert: if youāre a woman feeling intimidated by potential healthcare costs, you arenāt alone. It turns out more women are worried about healthcare financing than they are actual diagnoses, and Maria hopes to combat that through her work in the space. #womenshealthwatch
As we remember the life and legacy of Ted Turner, who was truly a giant in our industry, I wanted to leave you all with the final few minutes of our show today. The words of the people who knew him best and worked with him as he built our foundation into this global news organization say it better than I ever could. One of them, of course, is my colleague @wolfblitzer ... who Iām forever grateful to Ted for bringing into CNN. We can all take a lesson from Ted in his persistence, his vision for an informed world and his love of Earth. Heās already very missed.
By now, youāve probably seen the incredible video of Golden Tempo going from dead last to first place in the Kentucky Derby this weekend. I had the opportunity to chat with Golden Tempoās trainer, Cherie DeVaux, who made history herself as the first female trainer to have a horse win this iconic race. Cherie talked about her reaction to the victory, her career path in horse training and how Golden Tempoās personality allowed him to rise to the occasion (spoiler: he can be a bit lazy, but she calls him a late closer who steps up when it counts!)
As a politician, Eric Swalwell portrayed himself as a defender of women's rights. But in private, more than a dozen women say he made them feel uncomfortable. CNN's @pamelabrowncnn reports.
