Country star and North Carolina native @ericchurchmusic delivered a memorable keynote address for #UNC26 at Spring Commencement, capping it off with a performance of his hit song “Carolina” for the Kenan Stadium crowd.
Before that, he shared his own spin on string theory and how it applies to graduates, who donned Carolina Blue sunglasses in a nod to Church.

Long before Eric Church was selling out arenas, he was a North Carolina kid finding his path just like the graduates sitting in Kenan Stadium Saturday night.
As he addressed #UNC26, Church reflected on the importance of community, connection and having a place to return to no matter where life leads.
“And if you get lost, and at some point you will, you have a place where you belong,” Church said. “Come back, walk through the Quad on a fall day or sit on Franklin Street on a game day, and remember: These are my people because you are a Tar Heel.”
