🚨🐎✨ We’ve won a FRINGE FIRST! ✨🐎🚨 We are beyond thrilled to announce that The Horse of Jenin has been awarded a Fringe First by @the.scotsman — a hugely prestigious honour at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe! And because of phenomenal demand, we’ve added two extra shows: 📅 22 & 23 Aug | ⏰ 11:20am | Queen Dome, Pleasance Dome 🎭 2:20pm daily until 25 Aug (not 16, 19, 20 Aug) This show tells a story that has always mattered, and never more so. As the genocide in Gaza and the West Bank continues, and the occupation of Palestine persists, we must keep amplifying Palestinian voices, preserving culture, and advocating for justice, freedom, and an end to the violence. Bristol, we have a powerful event today at @strange_brew_briz We’re screening Palestine Comedy Club, a documentary recognised at major international film festivals, following six Palestinian comedians touring across Palestine, using humour as resistance in the face of occupation and the realities of everyday life. As the club grows, their search for humour becomes something deeper, a plea for humanity in the face of brutal injustice. Palestine Comedy Club tells the story of six Palestinian comedians who hit the road to tour a stand-up show across Palestine. As word of the club spreads, their search for humour amidst the injustice of everyday Palestinian life becomes a plea for humanity against in the face of brutal war. Join us for a special screening of the documentary and pre-screening conversation with Alaa Shehada @alaashehaha_ (co-founder of Palestine Comedy Club) Alaa Aliabdallah @regashots (documentary director) and Charlotte Knowles @lottie_knowles (documentary producer) hosted by rapper, activist and educator MoYah @iammoyah . MoYah’s work - featured on BBC One and international channels in Portugal, Senegal, Mexico,and Mozambique - speaks not only to his personal journey but also addresses a wide range of social justice issues. His music fosters community cohesion, empathy, and celebrates perseverance within marginalised and underrepresented communities. We will talk with MoYah before the screening of Palestine Comedy Club to welcome the audience and explore the wider impact the comedians are having sharing Palestinian stories of empowerment at this critical time.
