Pop-up cafés have been one of the best parts of Boston’s food scene this year. These are spaces where people test ideas, build toward something bigger, and share really thoughtful drinks without committing to a permanent storefront.
Here are my top pop-up café experiences from 2025 that you should absolutely keep an eye on:
•
@newberyst at
@merai.bar : Award-winning Thai coffee roasted in-house by
@pack.kati , incredible salt bread from
@tanapon.atp , and one of the best Thai teas in the city
•
@lucyjanematcha Started as a pop-up and grew into their own storefront, known for creative matcha and hojicha drinks sourced directly from Japan
•
@pebbles.studio.co : Pistachio everything, from lattes to cream puffs and cheesecake, all made with freshly ground pistachio paste
•
@palcafebos : The most experimental pop-up I’ve been to, with menus inspired by where they’re popping up and some truly unhinged food scientist energy
•
@jujumatcha at
@phinista.cafe : Some of my favorite matcha lattes of the year, especially the kinako cream top and banana bread matcha
More pop-up cafés worth watching:
@burntloaf.cafe @serifcafe @sipmatchaboston @radioombak @cafe.dozo
A lot of these cafés are still planning pop-ups around Boston in 2026, so if you care about creative coffee, matcha, and food experiences that feel special and temporary, follow along and save this for later.
