So much to see, so little time before lunch - Arthur Coles, head of programmes at @thenewtinsomerset , leading a party of journalists at a cracking pace along the #sweettrack over the waters of the marle pit, a nod to the ancient walkways used to navigate the Somerset Levels. He also took us around some of the activities on offer at this week’s inaugural #thegreatgardenshow , which runs until Sunday. Spoons carved by Lee Collins from wood he and the team have felled on the estate using some of the serious machinery also on display. Lunch, btw, was delicious. #gardenfestival #somersetevents #mayevents

no need for music - the birds outside are providing the perfect accompaniment to my piece in @houseandgardenuk on @catofglin ‘s Cotswold garden, created around the buildings of an old brewery and shown at its uttermost romantic in @montgomeryphoto ‘s heavenly pix. The pond was dug by @_dominicwest and friend and brings newts and dragonflies and swallows to add to the garden’s own cacophony of birdsong. See link in bio when i get round to it! #coverstory #romanticgarden #cotswoldgarden #swimmingpond

what a day to visit #culzeancastleandcountrypark and bow to the genius of #robertadam who created it for the 10th Earl of Cassalis, bankrupting the latter in the process. One can only salute their vision and ambition though. @nationaltrustforscotland

The human eye, wisdom and and heart still win out by miles in garden design - some of the results created by AI for my new border were as if I had been speaking to someone who really wasn’t listening to what i was telling them about what I wanted and what the conditions were; others produced schemes to make the stomach turn. With thanks to @lottie_delamain and @andysturgeondesign for your wise words - we soooo need you still! - and to @tiffanydaneff for the commission in @countrylifemagazine #gardendesign #nopaintingbynumbers #seelinkinbio⬆️

only yesterday eve i was smugly admiring the assorted pots of tulips I had managed to grow without being dug up by 🐿️. They must have heard my thoughts… this is all that is left. But jolly lovely they are, if only I could remember what variety? #tulipcarnage

#pinkpath - #cherryblossom in Pullar Memorial Park, Bridge of Allan. One of the trees is in memory of my dear dad, who died 20 years ago. Nice to think he is among other trees for other dear ones blooming away to cheer us up in a gloomy world - he would like that: an avenue of love. 💚

Out now in Architectural Digest! Johnnie and Sophie Boden at home in their Hardy Country haven, surrounded by wildflower meadows and rolling Dorset hills. Thanks to @shaxriegler for the commission, @venetiadearden for the dreamy photos and most of all to @johnnieboden , Sophie, Janet the Welsh terrier and their team for being so welcoming. And a big thanks too to @gandtgardentours for letting me join them there originally as JB talked about his meadows on their Summer Glow Tour, which visits the gorgeous gardens of the area in June. Peak perfection time for the English countryside. 💚 #hardycountry #wildflowermeadows #dreamylandscape #linkinbio @archdigest
