A man of chameleon-esque adaptability, @dave_huismans (A Made Up Sound, ex_libris, In Transit) returns to SOUP for the first time in over a decade at the end of the month for the Heathens and @c.o.v.e.n___ crews. Boasting a slew of cult classics in the 2010s era which saw the takeoff of Swamp81, Hessle Auidio et al, DH’s discography inspired a wave of producers to smudge the borders of Dubstep, Techno and Garage that still feels prevalent today. Now returning with an equally untethered disregard for genre conventions, Dave’s penchant for a brooding atmosphere mixed with laser-guided rhythmic propulsion isn’t something to sleep on. Henzo • Wed 13 May • The Dub Techno Chess Club Here’s a name that’s been echoing around the city’s walls for some time. Safe to say, a revered artist to many alternative electronic heads. Henzo @p_narm is a producer who is sculpting the future sound of club music through his mind-bending releases. His love for Dub Techno notably informs his productions where he draws from a broad pallet of Dancehall, Dubstep, Reggaeton and beyond. We’re so glad to finally have Henzo score one of our nights, he’s sure to bring some refined and unmissable selections in our fave genre. Come and watch his set at @soup_manchester (captured by @poweredbyrec )♟️ The Dub Techno Chess Club has open doors to all chess abilities. Some boards provided, bring your own to avoid waiting. 👽

Hiya! Sorry it’s been a while. Life post-album has been a bit all over but mostly in a good way. I took some time away from making music and being online and tentatively reentering the hellscape. Anyway, after a welcome reprieve from promoter life we’re back on the horse with the good crew @c.o.v.e.n___ to bring @dave_huismans to Soup alongside @naimadali in a couple of months time! I first heard DH’s tracks as A Made Up Sound on a ClekClekBoom radio show circa 2010 and I’m sure anybody approximately my age can relate to those circumstances. There’s nothing I can say about those tracks that hasn’t already been waxed lyrical - it was really seminal stuff in the formative days of my (our?) interest in dance music. Now under new monikers “ex_libris” and “In Transit” (both unreal), I’ve enjoyed hearing Dave’s proclivity for brain-itching production styles stay intact yet detangled from genre conventions and previous projects. I don’t want to witter on too much but I’d rather type out a paragraph and speak to you how I feel most honest than record myself dancing around my living room playing old records - no shade, that’s just not me. If you’d like to hear some cool, wiggy music in a dark room with big speakers then you might choose to do that here 🙂
