Along the quiet shoreline of Long Beach in San Vicente, Club Agutaya rests beneath a grove of tall coconut palms. The coastline here stretches for kilometers in either direction, a wide sweep of white sand where the sea moves slowly and the horizon remains open. The hotel follows a more traditional language of tropical design. Thatched villas rise gently above lush gardens while open-air spaces allow light and breeze to move freely through the property. At its center, an infinity pool reflects the sky and surrounding canopy, its edge looking out across the palms toward the beach beyond. There is a calm rhythm to this place. Morning light filters through the trees, the wind shifts softly off the water, and the long stretch of shoreline remains largely untouched. And sometimes, if your timing is right, the beach offers something extraordinary. A local caretaker quietly protects sea turtle nests along this stretch of sand, rescuing eggs from wild dogs or passing motorbikes that might destroy them. When the hatchlings emerge, they are gathered and released together at sunset, beginning their first journey toward the sea. For a few brief moments, the entire beach seems to pause as dozens of tiny turtles find the water. Then the tide carries them away, and Long Beach returns to its quiet rhythm. #palawanderer #philippinebeaches #clubagutaya #palawanderer #luxurytravelling

Hidden within the northern edge of Palawan, El Nido reveals itself slowly. Jagged limestone towers rise from the sea like ancient walls, protecting a maze of quiet lagoons, shallow reefs, and narrow passages that only small boats can pass through. From above, the water shifts from deep indigo to clear turquoise, revealing coral gardens and sandbars that appear and disappear with the tide. Many of these coves remain untouched. No roads reach them. No buildings sit above the cliffs. Only jungle, stone, and the steady movement of the sea. Travel here moves at a different pace. Outrigger boats glide between islands. Kayaks slip silently along limestone walls. Beaches appear unexpectedly through narrow openings in the rock, small pockets of white sand hidden between towering formations. For a moment, it feels less like visiting a destination and more like stepping into a landscape that has remained unchanged for centuries. El Nido is not simply a place you arrive. It is something you slowly discover. #elnidopalawan #palawanphilippines #islanddiscovery #hiddenparadise #editorialtravel

Along a quiet stretch of shoreline in the fishing village of Panindigan, Baia Palawan sits lightly within the landscape of San Vicente. Wooden banca boats drift across the bay at first light while fishermen prepare for the day along the sand. The pace here follows the tide. The design mirrors that same rhythm. Low structures finished in warm wood and natural textures open toward the sea, allowing light and breeze to move freely through the spaces. Lush tropical planting softens the edges of each pavilion, dissolving the boundary between architecture, garden, and coastline. Filming Baia meant focusing on the subtle relationship between place and design. Morning light spreading across the water. Palms shifting in the wind. The quiet movement of village life just beyond the property. A small hotel shaped as much by its surroundings as by the intentions behind its architecture. A small detail that lingers: the name of the village, Panindigan, translates to commitment. A fitting reflection of the enduring connection between land, sea, and the people who call this place home. At TMS Architects & Interiors, the homes we design are a reflection of their environment. For over 40 years, we have focused our work on creating spaces that complement their surroundings, increase energy efficiency and long-term durability, and give our clients the joy of embracing all of the beauty their surroundings have to share. On this Earth Day, we think back to our roots in this industry, and the responsibility we hold to treat the spaces we occupy with care and consideration. • • • Videographer: @ozoraco

For this Newfound Lake Timber Home, @tmsarchitects had the task of brining what the owners loved of the previous house in the property, to their new home. Initially timber framing was meant to do a subtle appearance, but the more the design evolved, the more it became a defining aspect of the space. “The client already had a strong vision, so my role was to refine it, fit it to the site and meet their program needs. Because timber was central to the concept, I leaned on CTFs expertise and encouraged them to shape the timber-frame elements collaboratively. With experts at the table, I wanted to give them the freedom to enhance the design. That partnership created a stronger final product, and the client appreciated that integrated approach” - Jason Bailey, TMS Architects Over the next few weeks, we’ll break down the design process, how to choose the right team, what it’s like working with a timber manufacturer, and what separates a good timber frame project from a great one. The full series is being released on our channel so make sure to follow us to watch it unfold. 🎥 @ozoraco #CustomDesign #Timberframing #CustomMade #WoodWork #NewHampshire

While reflecting upon the design process and end result of this timber-frame lake home, principal architect Jason Bailey, AIA notes, “I think I’m most proud of the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The property came with tight constraints, but we maximized it to create inviting areas that let the client enjoy the lake, the landscape, and time with family—whether they’re inside or out. Even though the home is a good size, it still feels cozy. The spaces offer privacy when needed but come together comfortably. It achieves what many clients are looking for in a lakefront vacation home.” Videography: @ozoraco Architect: @tmsarchitects Interior Designer: @tms.interiors GC: @haywardcustombuilders Timber Manufacturer: @canadiantimberframes Project: Timber Point

As seen on the latest cover of @nhhomemag , this timber-framed lake home takes on a hybrid design approach, with different pieces of the Douglas Fir timber serving as structural components, some as simply decorative pieces, and a few that take on both the structural and aesthetic roles.
