Absolutely insane haul from @matterhorn_records_vancouver_ today. I never thought I'd see this version of Laminated Denim in person, let alone own it. And to now own the double LP w/instrumental version of my favourite Gizz record is very special. The Kingfisher Bluez pressing of Polygondwanaland was just the cherry on top.

I've been making some big changes in my life lately and the main one is my business.
For the first time since we opened Protex Vancouver nearly 11 years ago to the day, we have our own space to ourselves. Not part of a building that another business is in, not shared space with another business, and no business partner. A space entirely our own. I've been restructuring our SOPs and hiring into new positions and changing how old ones function. We've been renovating and improving the physical space and changing how we use it... Not to mention recent past and upcoming life changes that I have been driven and drawn towards. And let me tell you, the gratification and reward for this hard work is almost instantaneous.
All this to say, change is scary, it's intimidating and sometimes the work necessary to exact the change can be difficult and uncomfortable. But if you want to improve your life, your living situation; if you want to improve your business, your personal personal relationships... In the wise words of a friend I miss very much, "Just do it, and then it's done."
Exacting change is a constant uphill battle but if you are morally motivated in the right direction, the reward is intoxicating, it'll give you a high better than anything you've felt, and it will only keep you wanting more.
So next time you find yourself unhappy with where you're at, the solution is simple and the work is hard, but just change where you're at.

So, upon @dillonr recommendation I snagged a ticket to see @tesseractband while I was in Austin for work. Not only were they absolutely incredible live, @emosaustin has got to be (by a landslide) the best sounding live music venue I've ever been to. Holy. Shit. 10/10 production across the board.
