One of my favourite discoveries of the year ❤️ I can’t recommend @oystershack_ in Epping Forest enough! A much loved local institute which serves an impressive range of fresh fish! I opted for their £35 seafood platter which works out £17.50 each and loved it! The Thai style muscles and their spiced prawns which reminds me of coronation chicken is amazing! Separately you need to try their oysters, salty silky goodness! If you’re greedy like me than grab a fish sandwich to go, it’s honestly my new fave sandwich absolutely delectable and keeps you full. A day trip in Epping Get yourself on a morning train to Epping, Loughton or Chingford to spend a hour doing a gorgeous forest walk with the end goal being @oystershack_ You have to be prepared to queue but wowww is it worth it! You stand in line in the sun with pints from the Kings Head pub next door then you get order the entire menu from the lovely team at Oyster Shack and devour each dish as it comes out fresh from kitchen We ordered: • Half a dozen Irish oysters, half a dozen jersey oysters (couldn’t believe the size of the Irish they incredible🦪 • Mixed anchovies • Half shell muscles with garlic & chilli • Their famous curried mango prawns - famous for a reason🤤 • Prawn, pepper, chorizo & halloumi salad • Fresh butterflied Cornish Mackerel • Grilled calamari with ginger, garlic & chilli • Scallops wrapped in pancetta with balsamic glaze • Fried whitebait with a delicious tartare sauce • Garlic butter skate knobs • Unlimited bread bin to mop up all the flavour packed juices All this for 4 of us was £100! Amazing for the amount of fresh seafood. One of my absolute favourite London day trips we have had. 🤩Seafood tapas in London Finally made it up to @oystershack_ and yep it’s as good as they say. Maybe it’s because I think there is not too many places like this, that I love my seafood more than meat, or the charm that it is family fun in the middle of Epping Forest….but it really did hit all the spots. Prob need to do a proper reel of the place, but stick to the fresh seafood & shellfish (and bacon scallop roll) and you won’t be disappointed. Special mentions to the specials blackboard and the family style service of characters (whilst enjoying it all with my own family). Even grab a pint or two from the adjoining pub.
