I feel like I’ve waited my whole life to film something like this. Bald Eagle families fighting over a fish when abnormally freezing temperatures leave minimal open water for hunting; just ice. Bald eagles were nearly extinct from New York due to the spread of DDT in past decades, but regulation and conservation efforts have allowed them to continue on. This is real footage. Shot on @sonyalpha Been on a huge @tigranhamasyan kick and was blasting this while feeling the thrill of capturing these beautiful birds on my way home. Only felt fitting. ©️ me #wildlife #eagles #bird #natgeoyourshot #newyorknature

Filming @tonysjoman in the garden of St. Cecilia, painting over his own work from years’ past. The church’s grounds are quiet, tucked into a serene area of Greenpoint where birds softly sing and summer breeze calms the busy city air. Tony spent weeks revising 10+ walls he painted years ago, from a previously grayer and cooler tone to a warm palette with new geometry. The shapes and patterns in the mural, some of which were improvised, lend to the architecture of this historic structure. Watching the process of art and having the time and means to document it is an absolute privilege. This one was a great reminder to continue doing the thing you love for the essence of doing it, and to stay present. 🦉🧡 🎥 #artreel #artprocess #mural #owley

Framing natives in gold as a symbol of protection & conservation; the ones who called this place “home” before colonization. This one is not for sale. Lease inquiries welcome. Frame found in the depths of the valley & refurbished as part of my continuing journey with Wildflorus. #photographer #art #realphoto #newyorknature Fine art photo printed through @printique_by_adorama

St. John’s Wort is a non-native wildflower that many devalue as a “weed” and thus pull it from the landscape & discard with quick judgment. They may not realize it has great medicinal, cultural, even spiritual value dating back thousands of years. It serves as a means to sustain pollinators as seen in this footage I captured from the Shawangunk Mountains last year. If we devalue each other and make quick judgments about who belongs and who doesn’t, without realizing each others’ value, then we are damaging our own ecosystem and everything suffers. Biodiversity is a good thing. This wildflower was known to “ward off darkness” in ancient times, and I hope you know that you are always welcome to come back to this video to find a moment of peace. #peace #nature #wildflorus #wildflower #naturephotography
