May is Mental Fitness Month
Itâs an initiative launched by a Bristol-based charity thatâs teaching men how to practice mental fitness and tackling the social stigma around wellbeing head-on.
If you live in Bristol, thereâs a good chance youâve heard of Talk Club by now. Whether youâve seen their distinctive black and white logo on a billboard, scaff wrap or shop window (Shredenhams, we're looking at you), tried their tasty AF beer or know someone whoâs been to a session, theyâre asking one simple question: How Are You Out of 10?
We think everyone should know about Talk Club, so this year we partnered with them to deliver a nationwide out of home campaign, using roadside billboards to spread the word across England, Wales and Scotland. But how did it all start? And whereâs it all headed? We sat down with Ben to find out...head to our blog to read the full interview (link in bio)
A beautiful temporary outdoor gallery has been unveiled across the hoardings for a new community centre in south Bristol, featuring designs created by young people and local artists. On display until summer 2026, the artwork is a culmination of a year-long project organised by community leaders from @knowlewestmedia and @filwoodcentre in response to the redevelopment of Filwood Broadway.
Primary school children worked with local artists, using recycled and scrap materials and archive photographs to create collages celebrating the past, present and future of the area. We spoke to some of the children who took part in the project and Dani Hale and Martha King from Knowle West Media CentreâŚread the full article on our blog (link in bio)
Outdoor advertising and street art have always shared the same canvas. Walls, streets, public space. The difference is usually who gets permission and who doesnât.
In the days following Banksyâs alleged unmasking by the national press last month (đ), a fresh mural quietly appeared on a familiar stretch of hoarding in Bristol. Coincidence? Weâll let you decide (and guess where it is!)âŚbut can street art and billboards coexist harmoniously?

As proud Bristolians, we consider Wallace & Gromit to be national treasures, so when @cheddargorgeandcaves asked us to print the signage for this incredible illuminated trail, we couldnât think of a better way to celebrate Aardmanâs 50th anniversary 𼳠so we headed to our favourite local beauty spot to check it outâŚ
The Illuminated Cave with Wallace and Gromit & Friends is on until the 31st May 2026, and it really is a cracking day out!

Women make up just 30% of the UKâs print workforce today, so you might be surprised to know that the first woman typographer, Anna Rugerin, built her own press in 1484, just 44 years after Gutenberg. The first Black woman in print was Mary Shadd, who founded The Provincial Freeman in 1853, whilst Margaret Busby (pictured above) became the first Black British woman publisher in 1967- more than *half a century* after Rugerin.
In a world where some countries still ban women from certain professions, the fight for equality and representation continues- and print is no exception.
Happy International Womenâs Day from all of us here at Out of Hand.
Here at Out of Hand itâs no secret we love a festival, so earlier this month we headed to @aif_uk âs annual Festival Congress đŞ đŞ đŞ
As an official partner, we printed a range of materials for this yearâs event, including the programme â which was stacked with lightning talks, workshops + roundtables with industry experts. The overarching message was clear: independent festivals continue to be under threat but through collaboration, we can build resilience đ¤
It was great to see so many familiar faces, inc. one of our oldest clients @testfestmusicfest ! We also met some new ones â shout out to Alice and Danielle, the brilliant brains behind @thefold.network and fabulous dĂŠcor specialists @jumboproduction đ
See you in the fields this summerâŚđ
