We're hiring an in-house Audio Writer! If you love to write and love consumer/prosumer audio gear, this could be your dream job in beautiful Lake Tahoe. As an in-house Review Writer, you will team up with one of our research analysts and/or product testers to analyze and compare products in audio categories, and then write up detailed reviews of the products that explain to our readers why and how we rated them. We're looking to add a talented, detail-oriented, audio writer on a full-time basis to help expand and deepen our audio product reviews (i.e. everything from headphones, earbuds, speakers, and more). We purchased a Brüel And Kjær tabletop simulator and are building an audio testing room to aid in our detailed testing (the In-house Audio Writer could help dial-in this sound testing room). As a Review Writer, you'll be part of our core team in producing our world-class product reviews. This role involves a combination of hands-on product testing work alongside our Research Analyst and product testers, critical analysis in rating each product, and then writing it up in a detailed and transparent review that lets our readers understand why each product earned the ratings we gave them. While audio products are the focus of this position, it is likely there will be other consumer and home product reviews to write as well. Our ideal candidate has a college degree, a PASSION for audio equipment, at least five years of writing experience, and is very detail-oriented with strong writing and analytical skills. A technical writing background is a major plus. As you can see from our reviews, we create long and detailed reviews, so your longer and/or more technical writing samples will be relevant for us to evaluate your application. Extensive experience with audio products is essential. This full-time position will be located in Zephyr Cove, Nevada and offers competitive compensation, benefits and a flexible work schedule. If you are interested in applying for our In-house Audio Writer position, please send your resume and several examples of your writing to: [email protected]

We hope you and your families are all well, healthy, and safe in this unusual time. We are pausing our social media temporarily. Now feels like the right time to focus our attention on keeping our communities and loved ones safe. While we don’t believe anyone can exactly predict what is ahead in 2020, you can be sure that GearLab in 2020 will be flexible, dynamic and adaptable to the changing conditions. Our review work continues and you can count us to keep delivering reviews in the future. You will notice us shifting our priorities to best align with these changing times but our focus will always be the same: helping you find the right product for you whether it is on an outdoor adventure or making the best of your time at home. Stay safe. Stay healthy.
