At the end of the day, we can talk up what we do but guest feedback will always say more than we ever could.
We’re always Quietly building. Constantly improving. Creating a place people love coming & returning to & also means our little community also thrives along side us.
That’s what matters most !!
🙏
Ps. I should probably share these individually but who’s got that for that 🫣

You’ve heard of a farm stay, but have you heard of...
Bauernhofaufenthalt.
Séjour à la ferme.
Soggiorno in fattoria.
Gårdsvistelse.
Dude Ranch.
Station Stay.
We might call it something a little different all around the globe, but we have more than a few things in common.
It's the way we live in cohesion with the land. Where what’s on your plate had as much care taken in the soil as in the pan. And where family and friends get together to grow, cook and share.
To us agritourism isn't just a trend, it's an opportunity to become a part of something much greater.

Most days it’s flies.
Most days it’s dust.
Some days a cow wrecks the plan.
Still beats staring at a spreadsheet.
Every day of the week.
This is Carinya.
In the bush, our visitors aren't just a booking number; you’re a guest in the place we call home.
In this day and age of AI and automated everything, we are proud to keep some really important traditions going. Like many station stays and properties in our Outback Beds network, every stay is grounded in genuine country hospitality and hosted personally by the owners of the property. And we think that makes a big difference.
From farm tours to fireside yarns, we’re here to make sure your outback memories are as authentic as the land itself. And passion for what we do is nothing short of inspired, and perhaps just a little unhinged! After all farmers are the biggest gamblers you will ever come across (please start rain dancing for us!)
Experience the difference of owner-operated travel and book a once in a lifetime trip to Outback Australia. Your visit will make a huge difference to communities who rely on rain and those coming down the road to say g'day.
Link in our bio or message us to chat through the details!
Lovely shot by @shooterwol for SMH.
Outback sunrise beats sunset out here.
There. I said it.
Agree?
It’s cold. It’s quiet.
You’ve got to get out of bed for it.
Most people don’t.
Pippa reckons it’s worth it.
Hard to argue, and from experience- you’re better off not to. 😂

These days my pay check may look a little different but I wouldn’t swap it for the world. Small business just pays in a different currency.
It’s the feeling of hard grit rewarded with seeing the unexpected joy from our guests who get to experience something that is truly curated for them. The faster the world gets, the more we crave honest connection, where community is the true amenity. Yet modern tourism seems to skip past that.
But trust me when I say this is one thing station stays do oh so well. We were built on community and welcome you to share ours.
And just occasionally, us owner-operators get to reward ourselves with just a small taste of what our guests experience! And it tastes just that bit sweeter after the sweat of the day. Cheers!
I woke up with dread this morning.
We’re trucking cattle today.
Not because we want to… because we have to.
It’s dry. Drought is looming. We act now.
I’ve had to put staff off.
People I genuinely love working with.
Izzy and Hayley haven’t even finished yet and I miss them already.
June and Jacob had only just started. 😔
Emails rolling in. More cancellations.
And every single one is kind, apologetic, understanding.
The kindness of people never ceases to amaze me.
I started Carinya as a resilience strategy.
Then it became drought diversification.
Now it stands on its own, with plans to grow…
and suddenly it all feels uncertain again.
Then you look wider…
Bullara Station hit hard by Cyclone Narelle.
Flooding through the NT.
To Amber Driver my old school mate and everyone in the Barkly, we’re thinking of you.
Even as I write that, the words feel hollow.
And yep… I cried. Poor Joe 😂
But here’s the flip side.
To the people still packing the car and heading our way…
Thank you.
We’re known for our hospitality…
at this rate I’ll be that grateful I might nearly kiss everyone who rolls through the gate 😂
You’re backing families like ours.
Thank You.
This is Carinya.
The outback has never been about easy.
It’s about showing up.
Understanding the full story, the good and the hard.
Right now is no different.
What makes a difference out here has always been people who choose to come anyway.
To stay. To listen. To look a little closer.
Travel deeper.
Be curious.
See a part of Australia that’s unapologetically real.
Because when you head west, you’re not just taking a trip.
You’re stepping into something bigger than yourself.
Not everyone is going to love Carinya.
And that’s the point.
We’re 10 minutes out of Lightning Ridge…
- On a dirt road.
- It gets dusty.
- It gets bumpy.
- And when it rains, we shut.
There’s no concrete slabs.
- Definitely no turf.
- No camp kitchen.
- No neatly trimmed hedges.
What there is…
- Big skies.
- Crackling fires.
- Animals that don’t care who you are.
- Space to properly switch off.
- And most importantly: Genuine outback hospitality.
Our guests are the kind:
- Who slow down.
- Who don’t mind a bit of dirt.
- Who stay for the experience, not just a powered site.
If you’re chasing neat and easy, the caravan parks in town will suit you perfectly. There are plenty to choose from.
If you’re chasing real…
This is Carinya.
We have some big things happening for Outback Beds in 2026!
Today, the President of Outback Beds, Angie Armstrong and Owner of the esteemed Outback Beds Tours, Bill Balding are heading to Sydney to represent Outback Beds Tours at Focus On NSW — structured trade event and familiarization program that will bring travel buyers from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, North America and New Zealand to NSW.
The event will showcase NSW products and destinations through an appointment-based B2B workshop, a networking function and a familiarization program in Sydney and regional NSW.
It’s an incredible opportunity to showcase our outback experiences on a global stage, build international partnerships, and invite the world to discover regional NSW.
From the red dirt to the coastline — we’re proud to be taking the outback to Sydney. Let's go team!

This is what collaboration, connection, community and creativity looks like! And pretty much sums up the juice that our wonderful group runs on. As a volunteer-run organisation that is passionate about sharing the outback with you, these opportunities to collaborate with like minded operators are invaluable. If you live in outback Australia and are thinking about agritourism, give us a shoutout! Trust us, it’s much easier together!
And yes Tan, you were double parked! But I guess it doesn’t count when one belongs to your boss!
Thanks for having us dnconsw!
