As the fuel situation continues to evolve, Australian Regional Tourism (ART) is collecting insights from across the sector to understand the impacts on the regional visitor economy.
ART is asking operators, RTOs, VICs and LGAs to share what they are seeing on the ground, across bookings, visitation and operations.
Your input will directly inform national advocacy and ensure Australia’s regions are clearly represented. Please complete the short survey and support your regional colleagues during this challenging period.

What a week! 🙌 Our 2026 Visitor Experiences Summit just wrapped in Narrabri, beautiful Kamilaroi Country, and it was our biggest turnout yet.
Thank you to every attendee, speaker, and team member who came out, brought your energy and insights and made 24 hours in Narrabri something to remember.
5:30am start, six hours of incredible countryside, and we arrived in Narrabri for the Destination Country and Outback Visitor Experiences Summit 2026.
The room was filled with passionate tourism operators, council representatives and regional leaders all working towards one goal, strengthening regional tourism.
What stood out most was the depth of knowledge and innovation from the operators in the room. The conversations were inspiring and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when regions collaborate.
It was also fantastic to see the impact of the Insights to Action mentoring program delivered by Destination Store for DNCO, with some exceptional new visitor experiences developed through the program.
Destination Store presented on social media, sharing practical insights for councils and tourism operators on how to use digital platforms to tell their story, reach new audiences and grow visitation.
Collaboration was a key theme throughout the summit, including initiatives like Outback Beds, helping travellers move more easily across regional Australia.
And the food… unforgettable. Incredible dishes from First Nations chefs and powerful stories from First Nations tourism operators reminded us how important cultural experiences are in shaping Australia’s tourism future.
A powerful reminder that regional tourism in Australia is innovative, collaborative and full of opportunity.
