We are short on our china dessert-size plates, and we need your help! 🍽️ If you’re a thrifter or a yard sale shopper, can you please keep an eye out for some bargains on plates for us? We do not care if they match or what color/ design is on them. They should just be free of chips and 6" to 8" in diameter. No parking needed to drop off! Our back donation door is staffed and accepting donations Monday-Friday, 7AM-11AM. We are located at 1730 Race Street in a big yellow building, across from Findlay Market in Cincinnati, Ohio’s Over the Rhine neighborhood. If you are heading south on Race, turn left at the light just before our building. At the back corner of our building, just before the parking lot, turn right onto Goose Alley. When you arrive, ring the buzzer OR call us from your car (513-306-1938) to check in with staff. Someone will help you unload, and you can be on your way! 😎

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 1 out of 5 Americans report having poor mental health. Our social center is a great way for our guests to be involved in their community, participate in calming activities, and showcase artistic expression. 🤲❤️ #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #beinvolved

Peace has been restored at ODB! ✌️Our coffee maker broke down a few months ago after many years of service. With the help of incredible donors, we were able to purchase a new (larger!) coffee maker to help amp up our coffee serving capacity. During the time our coffee maker was down, friends and neighbors came to the rescue to help tie the gaps. Thank you to Amy K., Jeff, Carol, and Christ Church Cathedral for lending us percolators to help continue to serve 500+ cups of coffee per day. Peace, love, and coffee! ☕️❤️

Happy International Compost Awareness Week! Our Kitchen and Inventory teams work hard to save every bite of food we receive - but when it’s not able to be rescued, we compost. Inventory staff Nella and Anna are compost superheroes - they weigh our buckets each day and take them over to @findlaymarket ’s compost facilities (thanks, Findlay Market!). We’ve composted over 4k lbs so far this year! 🌎️🥦

Thank you to Beth and the International Student Exchange helpers for making PB&J sandwiches for our guests! Beth shared that for a couple years, she has organized a day for the students to gather and make sandwiches together. She said, "Thanks so much for the work you do in our community. I love sharing it with our international exchange students each year and asking them to help!" We serve PB&J and meat sandwiches at our to-go window in snack bags, ensuring guests on the go have something to eat later in the day after meal service ends. We are glad to have the extra help! Thanks to all for your support. ❤️

Just a casual Sunday for Chef Josh. He took a break from running our restaurants to compete in the SCRAPS Cook-off at @rhinegeist He had 48 hours to turn a mystery bag of "rescued" ingredients into these works of artart and won Best Vegetarian. Should we put this on the Hapa menu? Big thanks to @ourdailybreadcincy for having us and for everything you do for the community. Glad we could help turn food waste into a win. Nice work, Josh. 🍻
