DodekaOTTO - part II
On 17.4., a week ago, we launched our new format - ambisonic tearoom, and it's still echoing in ourselves and hopefully in all our guests!
SONIC DEN - a temporary space to inhabit as a formation - came to life with OTTOsonics soundsystem and immersive live soundacapes by mʊdʌki, 9abriela, Jan Krtička, Zosia Hołubowska, Daniel Haas, DJ Kazpa and Michael Dose.
Delicate light, projection & space design was done in collaboration with Wouter Kooij, John Carmon & Michal Ivanecky. Delicious snacks delivered by Kai Granaas, and the tea bar itself by Polina Khatsenka.
All this done with enormous support of the Salzamt crew, Stream festival, and in collaboration with TamLab. HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who contributed with their time, energy, effort and vision to make this happen!
We're very happy to see this happening and looking forward to our next nomadic settling points!
See you next time 💫

Sound on 🎧 things are taking shape!
Manu took the opportunity to capture the amazing acoustics (8 sec. reverb!) of the empty and almost ready home base of OTTOsonics, Alter Bauhof - and main venue for all kinds of cultural events in Ottensheim, run by OTTO Kulturgenossenschaft.
The opening event of the completely renovated venue is happening on May 22-24.
More info about upcoming OTTOsonics events and interventions will follow soon.
Stay tuned!
👨🚀 NEXT EVENT ANNOUNCE! 👩🚀
The idea we worked through for almost one year is coming to its' kickoff!
Come experience the 𝙎𝙊𝙉𝙄𝘾 𝘿𝙀𝙉 with our crew on 17h of April at Atelierhaus Salzamt during the Stream festival in Linz, Austria. The night is followed by the Sonic Architecture workshop by 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙠𝙖 on 18.4. at 14:00.
𝙎𝙊𝙉𝙄𝘾 𝘿𝙀𝙉 is a space to be temporarily inhabited in a form of a collective multidimensional experience. Alternatively, 𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝘿𝙚𝙣 is designed to be an ambisonic tea room. There are multiple layers of the space: 🔉 a spatial audio system by 𝙊𝙏𝙏𝙊𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙨, creating a complex, almost tangible soundscape; 🔮 site-specific light scenography by 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙆𝙤𝙤𝙞𝙟, 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣 & 𝙈𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙠𝙮, intervening with the physical space and creating a parallel visual dimension; 🍵 ongoing tea ceremony by 𝙢ʊ𝙙ʌ𝙠𝙞 inviting the participant to get slow and dissolved in the momentum; 🍙 food by 𝙆𝙖𝙞 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙖𝙨 to refill the energies & stay grounded.

Our aim is to establish a temporary community, settling for the night in the space of Salzamt, addressing the roots of diy music gatherings, coming out from travellers' culture, self-sustainability and nomadism. 🌏
We're very happy to make the event in the collaboration with TamLab Linz.
Stay in touch for more info on the program, artists and tea lineup 😉
::OTTOsonics Residency Program Edition III: AIR & Live::
Dear spatial sound artists & researchers!
The open call for two residency periods in 2026 is now online. A shiny new residency venue will await you with lots of space and equipment to experiment and explore.
Location: Ottensheim, Upper Austria
Deadline: 12th of February
More infos and details are online > link in bio
We are very excited to review your submissions!
Been working with this folk a lot in the last few months, thx to Manu Mitterhuber & OTTOsonics for this unique opportunity ♡
I'm testing it in various places, learning by doing, and there's obviously so much to explore! it's spatial audio on a totally new level for me, without much hassle around setting up the system, just going straightaway.
The guy is producing smth totally different as an output, there's no field as in a dome setup, but lots of real captivating moments with reflections. And it's doing it's job at 500% from 100... 🤭
Catch me today in Prague's den for most dedicated music nerds - Punctum. Always lovly to come back. Stay chooned for more smartass stuff 🤓😈
For the pics thx @lalapesch & @mariesrajerova

Mentor spotlight: Manu Mitterhuber / OTTOsonics
We’re happy to welcome Manu Mitterhuber as one of the mentors at this year’s Liquid Summer Lab. As a co-founder of OTTOsonics and long-time collaborator, Manu brings a deep, practice-based understanding of sound systems, spatial acoustics, and sonic experimentation.
Together with participants, we’ll be setting up a customized ambisonic system, exploring decoding strategies, loudspeaker layouts, and possibly even capturing ambisonic impulse responses — engaging both the technical and artistic layers of spatial audio.
From experimental music to community-led infrastructure, Manu’s work sits at the intersection of creation, collaboration, and acoustic precision. Since 2023, OTTOsonics has been a valued partner of the phonon~ crew, and we’re excited to continue this exchange 🫶🏻
