Almost every meal at Jacksonville's Othello begins with bread—hot from the oven, topped with za’atar, harissa, or sea salt and olive oil, and ready to set the tone for a cozy meal rooted in tradition. The father-daughter duo behind one of the Bold City's most in-demand spots pulls inspiration from Spain, North Africa and the Middle East to create meals best shared with others at this intimate corner in a historic neighborhood. Read about the inspiration behind the menu at the link in our bio. Story by @evanbenn Photos by @colelocurto

WE’RE NOT CRYING 🥲 . . thank you so much for the love over the past year+ we couldn’t do it without you. these past few weeks we’ve been waking up to new reviews almost every day and it couldn’t make us feel any better. we’re grateful for this beautiful community for showing us the love in return for what we work hard to put out every day! #restaurantdesign #igersjax #supportsmallbusiness #springfieldhistoricdistrict #seafood #jaxisrad #edibleneflorida #eatlocal #rawbar #904happyhour #jaxrestaurants #sipsavorjax #supportlocaljax #jaxlife #jaxeats #jaxfoodies #eatjax #yelpjax #floridafoodie #visitjax #jacksonvillefl #jacksonvilleflorida #904foodie #904eats #stufftodoinjax #eatdrinkjax #jaxfl #restaurant #ambiance #bestambiance

This event was created to bring community together, showcase the many cultures that make Jacksonville special, and turn introductions into friendships. What actually happened was all of that and so much more. The chefs and their teams absolutely crushed it, the guests brought incredible energy, and Down To Earth Farm became the perfect setting for an unforgettable night. One could say a Low Country Boil might just be the best way to introduce someone to our city and the beautiful people who make it what it is. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, cooked, collaborated, and shared this experience with us. And if you missed it… stay tuned. We might just be crazy enough to keep this going.

Truly one of the coolest culinary experiences in Jacksonville. 🦞✨ A night centered around food, culture, storytelling, and community! All shared under one tent with some incredibly talented chefs and amazing people. Every detail felt intentional, from the atmosphere to the communal dining experience. ✨ Huge thank you to everyone who made this night happen. These are the kinds of events that make this city so special. ❤️🌾 Maria La Mota & Chason Spencer (@chanchoking ) - James Beard Finalist Nominees Chef Andrea Bryant-Smith (@gullahgeechee ) Chef Kalin Anderson (@feedtheville ) Chef Sebastian Velez (@othellospringfield ) Chef Jojo Hernandez (@abstraktfilipinoessence ) Chef Tim Lovero (@cororestaurant )

Mothers teach us the tenets of hospitality — feeding us, teaching us, carrying us, and somehow still finding more to give. Today we celebrate the women who built us long before we built Othello, and the mothers on our own team who show that same care, strength, and grace every single day. Happy Mother’s Day from our team!

@visit_jax really surprised me in the best way. ☀️🌴 I found a coastal city with beautiful beachy views, Spanish moss–draped trees, the St. Johns River, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Great food, easygoing charm, and plenty of sunshine—Jacksonville should be on your travel bucket list. Visit modernsouth.co to see our full guide on where to eat, stay, and play in Jax.

Othello in Springfield is giving cozy patio dinner, shareable plates, and “order one of everything” energy. ALWAYS🤌🏼✨ Mediterranean flavors, good wine, and the prettiest little outdoor setup tucked right in the heart of Springfield. Perfect spot for date night, girls’ dinner, or an easy habibi happy hour bite. 📍Othello | Springfield, Jacksonville #JessInJax #VisitJax #JacksonvilleFoodies #SpringfieldJax #habibihour

Maybe I’m just obsessed with Mediterranean food and great experiences 🥹 @othellospringfield has been one of the best intimate experiences that I’ve had the opportunity to indulge in, in Jacksonville. The service, atmosphere and the food 10/10. We tried a little bit of everything on the menu but my favorite was the Branzino 🤤 I’m looking at reservations right now for my next visit 🤗 Let me know when you go and what you try! I miss you guys so much MEOWWW🫶🫶🫶 • @jacksonvillearboretum best place for nature walks🌿 • @1748bakehouse what I would do to have a breakfast sandwich and a bourbon maple vanilla latte rn 🥹 • @riversideartsmarket best weekend plan in Jax !! • @sprucejax the beverages here are🔥best place for studying/working !! • honerable mentions include: the thrift store (I spent so much money there and literally over half my clothes are from there), Neptune Beach >>> Jax beach, and I still don’t know the name of this bridge even though I drove over it almost every day…never got tired of the view✨ #jacksonville #jax #jacksonvilleguide #jacksonvilleflorida #jacksonvillecoffee

Dinner with @allisonlovevaughan at @othellospringfield 💕 Sebastian came over to say hello. Sounds of soft chitchat carrying across the room. The food is amazing — truly. But it’s the kind of place where even the good food becomes a backdrop. Community becomes the main character. I found myself quietly taking it all in — faces, names, the rhythm of the room. This is the kind of place where Allison has a standing reservation every week. And I kept thinking… What does it look like on the very first day you walk into a restaurant that you’ll one day grow old in? Last night felt like chapter one. 🤍
