Identité visuelle conçue pour l’exposition de Kent Monkman, artiste de renommée internationale et membre de l’ocêkwi sîpiy (Nation crie de Fisher River), reconnu pour sa réinterprétation audacieuse de la peinture d’histoire. Présentant une quarantaine d’œuvres monumentales, l’exposition explore la complexité des expériences autochtones à travers des thèmes comme la colonisation, la crise climatique et l’affirmation des communautés 2ELGBTQIA+. L’identité marie une esthétique royale et contemporaine, tandis que la typographie Octave traduit la tension entre héritage et renouveau, insufflant à l’ensemble une présence lyrique et intemporellne.

Visual identity designed for the exhibition by Kent Monkman, an internationally acclaimed artist and member of the ôcêkwi sîpiy (Fisher River Cree Nation), known for his bold reinterpretations of history painting. Bringing together over forty monumental works, the exhibition explores the complexity of Indigenous experiences through themes such as colonization, climate crisis, and 2ELGBTQIA+ representation. The identity blends royal and contemporary aesthetics, while the Octave typeface embodies the tension between heritage and renewal, lending the whole a lyrical and timeless presence.

Cette monographie accompagne l’exposition «Times Holds All the Answers» et reflète l'approche de Postcommodity, qui considère les systèmes de connaissances Autochtones comme adaptatifs et relationnels. C’est avec une police de caractère spécialement conçue pour la publication, que «Post-Helvet» se réapproprie la police ubiquitaire et iconique Helvetica avec une intervention décorative aux inspirations végétales. C’est en la faisant muter vers une nouvelle forme qu’une relation a été établie entre le retour à la terre et la transformation nécessaire pour que celle-ci revive.
