Great Horizons is a collaborative initiative uniting schools, trusts, civic organisations, universities, businesses and community partners to raise aspirations and expand opportunities for young people across Oldham.โ

Through inspiring STEM-focused activities, the project has already brought together pupils, teachers and partners from across the borough, including at key landmark events featuring Professor Brian Cox. One of which was hosted at OSFC.โ

Today we hosted a group of digital T-Level students from @osfc_info as they visited @thesharpproject
The students found out more about the businesses based at The Sharp Project as well as career opportunities in the wider creative digital sector across Greater Manchester.
We also met the T-Level lead from @digitalnextofficial who will be facilitating some @osfc_info students on their placements next year ๐ป ๐ง ๐ฑ
Year 12 T Level digital students and IT students attended a digital mock assessment centre workshop on Tuesday 21st April .
The workshop activities included an Ice Breaker, Interview, Presentation and Case Study.
All students engaged and found the workshop valuable in terms of preparing them for the apprenticeship recruitment process.

A big thank you to @uomhums Language Student Ambassadors Anita (BA Film & Spanish) and Alicija (BA Linguistics & Japanese) for delivering a brilliant Modern Languages talk to all of our AS students today!
They shared great insights into studying languages at university, including the year abroad and future career paths.
A couple of weeks ago, Health and Social Care students manned health education stalls to help educate the college community.

Yesterday, we held our 3rd annual Trust Student and Pupil Eco Conference at @hathershawcollege
Young people from across our trust came together to celebrate sustainability and to raise awareness about the importance of environmental action. The event was held on 22 April 2026, in recognition of Earth Day and this yearโs global theme, Our Power Our Planet.

The business department at OSFC is proud to announce the launch of an innovative new student-led initiative in partnership with @fareshareuk , the UKโs leading organisation dedicated to tackling food waste and food insecurity. Officially launched yesterday, the project aims to address the growing challenges of surplus food waste and rising food costs within the local community.
