Hello everyone!
I now hold the latest record in my hands and it's a beauty. @agneshorneij artwork is perfect and the @rrgemsrecords tip-on sleeve is typically excellent. This first pressing is basically sold out at the source but still available from plenty of record stores.
The title, Oppression Is Nine Tenths Of The Law, is of course paraphrasing the expression possession is nine tenths of the law. It's inspired (feels like the wrong word in this context... ) by the horrors inflicted on the Palestinian people by the Israeli regime. I will be auctioning off five special copies of the record (linocut cover, designed by me, printed and cut by @gilleslostale ) with the proceeds going to UNRWA. I'll make a post with more information about this in a day or two.
In other news, two major changes has occurred in my life recently. I have moved from the apartment, where I recorded most of my discography, to a new house which means my studio is in a state of disrepair. And my first child was born a few months ago. As you can imagine I'm very happy about this! I don't know when I'll get back to making music but this is probably my last album for a bit.

First slide is my favourite "old" finds of the year. 6/9 were found locally which is pretty good. 2024 was definitely better than last year when it comes to vintage records added to the collection, but I still bought more new records this year which brings me to the next few slides...

This is a numbered edition of 10 with handmade covers by me, reused sleeves flipped inside out. I'm auctioning off nine copies with the proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders or UNRWA (winners choice).
How does it work? At this time tomorrow (roughly 21.00 central European time) I will post the different covers in my stories. You enter your bid (the full amount to be donated to one of the above listed organizations) by responding to the image of the copy you want to bid on. Shipping is on me. Minimum bid is 50 $/Euro. Bidding is open for 48h, and about halfway through I'll post an update with the current high bids. So it's sort of a semi-silent auction.

New Release Announcement! 🌸 Ad Hoc is the latest offering from Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustav Horneij, under his Organic Pulse Ensemble alias. True to its name, Ad Hoc embraces spontaneity and the art of being in the moment, with each track crafted using a Tascam four-track tape recorder. Playing all the instruments himself, Gustav used this minimalist recording method to capture most performances in a single take, leaving no room for the digital safety net of endless edits. Instead, mistakes became opportunities, reshaped into defining features of the album—a process Gustav calls ”problem-solving on the fly.”
The result is a vibrant collection of spiritual jazz compositions, where modal grooves, layered percussion, and emotive saxophone and flute solos converge with Ethio-jazz and Eastern influences. While the album retains the meditative and exploratory qualities that characterize Horneij’s work, tracks like Solid bring a funkier, groove-driven energy to the mix, adding dynamic contrast to the album’s soundscape.
Released as a joint effort by Ultraääni Records and Puro Recordings, this limited LP pressing is a testament to Gustav’s dedication to organic, soulful music-making. Ad Hoc is an invitation to dive into the raw, unpolished beauty of music made in the moment—mistakes and all.
Ad Hoc will be released in late 2024 as a limited edition of 500 recycled black vinyl LPs and 200 colored vinyl LPs. The sleeves, designed by Arsi Keva, were screenprinted by hand on recycled LP covers, making each one a unique, vibrant piece of art. Celebrations!
Firstly, many thanks to everyone who's been listening, enjoying and posting about the new record! I've sold out my personal stock, some of which went to local record shops here in Gothenburg. I traded them in for records I've been wanting to get my hands on for a while, A Love Supreme for example, missing from my collection until now. But the real rush of adrenaline came when I asked @maxlinneskivbors about possible trades and he brought these records out. I've never seen a record from Saturn in person so I couldn't resist the opportunity.
