Six weeks of total immersion.
Living with B.I.G.,Pac, and Mahler every day—four to six hours at a time—reading, reciting, breathing a body of work that demands absolute presence.
An hour and twenty minutes straight RAPPING.
Tempos constantly shifting.
Lyrics delivered without percussion at times, without a metronome click—just breath and a full orchestra holding space.
I never learned to read sheet music.
I was never formally trained.
But I do know this—I bring my whole heart into this shit.
Have you ever done something that genuinely terrified you?
On the other side of that fear is exhilaration and peace.
A standing ovation at a packed Hilbert Circle Theatre is something I’ll carry for the rest of my life.

It’s been a wild past couple of days. Over the weekend I was sending back demos auditioning for composer Steve Hackman. Excited to share that I’ll be performing as Notorious B.I.G. with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for The Resurrection Mixtape. It’s a wild mashup of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony along with Tupac and B.I.G. 🤯

It took me a couple days to conjure up some words, but I’m happy to say that Bad Dogs is now in the universe.
It’s always such an honor and privilege to continue to create with such special, brilliant people. To my bandmates—Moose, Sirius, Ostry, Dimitri, and Sharlene— you all are an endless well of inspiration. Thank you. To our engineer and wizard @rattmiefler for always bringing the most positive creative energy and making us sound like what we dreamed.

Wow! Bad Dogs is finally out today and there are so many emotions pouring out. A couple years ago when we were heading home from a run of shows the whole van was really inspired to start writing.
What a honor to be able to share these moments with so many special people. Its funny that our first record came together so quick and this one seemed to take forever. There were times during recording where I was on the verge of tears when making Juno, and I wasn’t sure why. hearing d’s guitar part for ‘heart of stone’ for the first time, the way osty’s drums tucked that song into a whole new pocket, hearing shar’s chorus for ‘fire over me - These are things that will stand the test of time.
