Whether you’re more of a「生き急いで搾り取って」person, a「ローリング/ローリング」enjoyer, or even a「さよなら そうするよ」one — there’s always a little bit of something for everyone from the ever-ubiquitous ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. Could that explain their long lasting influence on how the band’s sounds far reached its home audience? Who knows, but maybe the conversation between the four and our local musicians can help us draw an image of their legacy.
For this episode in our Artist on Artist interview, we’ve gathered @aleantipony of The Adams/@wsatcc , @yudhistira.agato of @vague_music /@jirapahmusic , @krautmilk of @l_alphalpha , @makitsuna of @eleventwelfth , and @orcaxp to prepare questions dedicated to the Japanese band, discussing their dreams as a band, their favorite anime, to how they use their platform in the midst of dire global situations.

A couple months back, I started revisiting ALTAR EP, thinking about how it should live beyond the recordings.

Celebrating 100m plays, here’s the 1st iteration of Tarot that I made at 2 in the morning, 1 day before I went to see Feast to talk about the album.
It’s a version they never even heard before, because what I let them hear eventually was a slightly more polished version that I prep later on in the day. they’d probably turned down this version if I let them hear it because it’s obviously a shit version of it 😂
But you’ll get to hear the core ideas that eventually made the song, it’s a simple tune.
I remember crying in the car listening to the almost-finished version just after Baskara completed the vocal recordings that ended up in the album. it’s something even I can relate to, also knowing their history as a band and a group of friends.
I’m just very grateful for the opportunity that they gave me and also want to let them know that I’m very proud of them as a friend :>

One for the books!!! Last Saturday was truly insane, one that I will remember for years to come. Finally an offline event that takes me back to when I first DJ with them 2 years ago..
What makes it more special (and sad) is that this was the gig where we say goodbye (for a while) to @masdion___ as he completes his study in the Oz. So it was my absolute honor to open the night for the rest of @daijobuclub , because obviously I wouldn’t be here without him, and I wouldn’t have the privilege to call them my dearest friends. Here’s to more days like this one.
P.S: unlike the infamous Netflix party, I remember everything about this night👌🏻

Happy birthday to the one and only @skele.tale ! Being 25 years old is by no means an easy feat. I've watched you grown so much as a person. I know you're destined to do great things and reach great heights. So whatever life may throw at you, don't give up. Try, try, and try again until you get it right. I hope you welcome failures, and champions whatever you've achieved in this lifetime, no matter how small. There's always a place for you in the future. Thank you for all the things you've taught me these past 2 years, and thank you for always being there whenever it gets too dark for me. Thank you for being you.
