p.s. 龍馬精神 is hard to translate simply - there are lots of meanings and the direct translation is ‘a dragon and horse’s spirit’ which infers to wishing someone strength and prosperity, having a strong and energetic spirit, being determined, and so on! one would typically say this greeting to older folk but i think it’s fitting for this year as it’s an idiom with 馬 (horse) and 2026 is the year of the horse! (source: google for this cbc :D)
