Painted with our red tip size 1 and yellow tip size 0.
I'm trying to improve my edge highlights at the moment by focusing on the 'Eavy Metal style. To do this, I'm working through my Kill Team starter set and painting a few different chapters with the minis along the way. I'm following @infernalbrush tutorial too which is inspiring and informative.
Things I've learnt so far:
1) Chunky edge highlights need to be chunkier.
2) I'm still a bit confused by the third stage and where it fits. Do they go on every edge or just those pointing upwards? I find when this stage is done less successfully the outcome looks like something out of Tron beacuse the contrast is too high. I think I'm getting a bit of that here, but that could also be my lamp.

I'm currently painting up The Lion and in this reel we work through the coveted black-green armour! It was a real joy to paint and has been on my hobby bucket list for a while.
Brushe sizes were, 3, 1 and 00.

Painted mainly with our size 1 and 00, this battle brother is ready to serve the Emperor and slay his enemies up close and personal.
I've taken the lessons from my previous marine and applied them to this miniature - mainly the width on my edge highlights.
I'm really happy with the results and ready to move on to the next one.

Details are done and my Ultramarine is finished! Well, sort of, I need to add decals. But then, then it's done!

All done and in the cabinet. Working on this was everything I wanted and what a challenge it was.
I mainly used the red tip size 1 and the green tip size 00 for the finer details.
I feel like I've learnt a lot about nmm and refined my understanding of glazing through this piece. I've found that when reflections are included in nmm the effect is far more convincing. Also, silver is harder than gold in my view because it's easy for it to read as grey if the contrast isn't quite right.
In future pieces I want to try working up the gold over a rich purple to add warm undertones. Additionally, I want to use more blues in my silver to give a more convincing environmental reflection.

A few coats of varnish this morning and he's in the cabinet.
I've wanted to paint this model for ages and it didn't disappoint. The base was especially fun to paint due to all of its different materials and textures. For me, trying a more muted gold nmm for the chaos elements was a welcome challenge and one that I really enjoyed.
My 00 put in work on during this project and is in desperate need of some tlc.
