Wave of Mutilation ⚔️⭐ After watching the mega aurora show on Friday the 10th I was scheming on finding a way to shoot some climbing under a rare sky Saturday night. Luckily Trent and Sean were game to make it happen and the burly "Wave of Mutilation" (13c) was the perfect route for it. The lights were not as strong as the previous night, but the color was insane and we nailed the foreground with a speedlight timed right at the apex of the swing in the jump move. This unique little route exists due to the vision of @geedubble12 & @frankjdusl - there used to be a big boulder under it and Greg first did the route from the hueco, then they eventually rolled it down the hill and Frank added the jump boulder to make it the route we climb today. We have these two to thank for a staggering number of great routes in the Lander area. ⚔️🙏🙏 Kind of a dream shot for me and a rare opportunity in Wyoming for sure. Thanks to the crew for the psyche! @sunriseradventure @bekka.mongeau @tha_lil_meatball @suzie2therescue and Sean! #sports

- The Heart of Gold - Had a lovely visit during the peak of summer to this high elevation gem of a crag that Steve has been developing over the past few years. With bits that are reminiscent of the City, and sections of Buttermilk-esqe patina, Steve's efforts here have definitely not been in vain. I think this will become a great mid summer hideaway from the summer heat! With a nice breeze coming off the winds my fingers actually numbed out in the shade... seems like an eternity ago with winter descending upon Lander now. 1 - Bechtel on his classic "Two too many horses" 2 - Amity crimping through "The long black train" 3 - Joel climbing "97% Evil" 4 - Crux boulder of "Two too many horses" 5 - Joel knows how to milk a good rest 6 - Amity flashing "97%" 7 - Steve runs a lap on the namesake of the crag

- Sage and Bone - Every year when visiting the beautiful Baldwin Creek wall I find myself stunned by the rock quality and the blank sections of wall without routes. Every year I say to myself that I will make some additions. This year I finally put one in. Very pleased with how this route turned out, and very grateful to add to this wall stacked with classics from some legendary developers. Nothing quite like watching the deer and elk meandering through the sage as early light pours into this gorgeous little valley, not 10 miles from my house, yet a touch remote feeling. The name is inspired by my friend @amyskinner62 classic route, Wind and Rattlesnakes: "Wyoming, all a bunch of nothing - Wind and Rattlesnakes - and so much of it you can't tell where you're going or where you've been, and it don't make much difference" Thanks for the 📷 @mikey_thesituation !

I bolted this route about a year ago. It's tall with a nice position at the top of the Joint, and it features some brilliant stone and fantastic movement. A rare find at a cliff first bolted in the 1980s. At first I was unsure that I would be able to do it, and it took until this fall for me to finally unlock the upper boulder and realize that it was possible. I was lucky to get it done a couple weeks back, and I'm still honestly stunned that I was able to open this incredible route so close to town after almost 40 years of sport climbing in Sinks. What a gift. ⚔️ Hell is Empty | 13c It's been a pleasure to watch several friends climb on it, and I will be psyched to see it get repeated! Here is Tom sorting it out on a nice November day. #sports

To climbers, Sinks Canyon conjures images of steep dolomite with savage sequences on tweaky pockets. While that is mostly true, the granite at the top of the canyon has gotten renewed attention lately. It offers a welcome respite from the mono lockoffs, but the climbing is stellar in its own right. ✅ Call to Arms, 5.12c The route is amazing—tall, and exposed, with moves that just build in difficulty to the top of the wall. It’s one of the best 5.12s in Lander and a testament to Nate’s Liles’ vision as a first ascentionist. Nate is also the creative genius behind @orographic_visual and when he invited me to climb on the granite and he brought his camera, I couldn’t have been more psyched. As is plainly obvious, Nate’s amazing vision extends to behind the camera as well, making this aging climber look young again 🤣. Thanks Nate! 📸 @orographic_visual #climbing #sportclimbing #rockclimbing #graniteclimbing #climbingphotography #climbingsinks #sinkscanyon #wyoclimbers #climbinglife @firstascentpod

Tiny holds on an overlooked Penitente classic. ⚔️ "Glutton For Punishment" Opened in the early 90's by the prolific Gus Glitch, a legendary climber and developer out of the Carolinas who recently passed away. I never met Gus but heard several colorful stories over the years involving dual chalkbags, cheap beers, and psyche. Thanks to @asca_bolt_replacement for the new ss hardware that replaced the 30 year old bolts on this one. #sports
