I recently completed the Optimal Maternal Positioning live workshop and what I learned shifted something in how I understand the labouring body. Not in theory, but in practice, in the hands, in the room.
OMP is a framework built on biomechanics and pelvic dynamics. It gives birth practitioners a structured way of reading what a body is asking for at a specific moment in labour and responding with intention rather than guesswork. The difference between those two things is significant, for the woman labouring and for the people supporting her.
