We handed out @kindspirecards cards today for @operation.82 …. @mariarebuilds were gone instantly. Smiles, thank you’s, people actually stopping to talk. Then there’s me… I held out my cards and people started power walking like I was trying to sell them solar. One guy crossed the street. Another pretended to take a phone call. Someone looked me dead in the eyes… and grabbed one from Maria instead. Even in recovery… the fear of rejection is still very much alive 😂 Apparently kindness is more convincing when it comes from Maria. I’m just out here looking like a guy handing out pamphlets for a timeshare. But hey… we do recover. Just maybe not from rejection… not yet.
