The Engineering Working Group (EWG) has officially launched the Engineering Microgrants 2025 program ๐ Following the announcement of the new jurors, we now invite you to submit your project ideas for funding consideration.
๐ก Do you have a technical idea that could improve OpenStreetMap or benefit the OSM ecosystem? This is your chance to bring it to life!
๐ฐ Total Budget: ยฃ30,000
๐ง Per Project Limit: ยฃ6,000
๐ Deadline: Mid-July 2025 (Submit ASAP!)

We are pleased to share the Sovereign Tech Fund's announcement about their investment in OSM:
"Weโre excited to share details about how the Sovereign Tech Fund is investing in OpenStreetMap's efforts to modernize its core technology. From late 2024 through 2026, this investment will help update OpenStreetMapโs codebase, bringing it up to current software standards, and improve the contribution process through better documentation and testing.
In addition, the project will explore enhancements to its infrastructure, including tackling map vandalism and developing innovative ways to interact with geospatial data, strengthening OpenStreetMapโs impact in industries like logistics, urban planning, and disaster response."
