Making 10 limited edition prints for the @openprintexchange using the @openpressproject 3D printed mini press. Inspired by the @notpla seaweed paper, I've carved a seaweed design out of linoleum and a little seahorse to join it. If you are eagerly waiting to see what prints will be in this year’s print exchange, you can pass the time by checking out last year’s catalogue! ✨ It took us a long time, but we have finally put it up on our website. It’s from the Open Print Exchange 2025 and includes all 340 prints from that year. As always, they are photographed by us in exceptionally high resolution and printed on a rich black background. Finally back to #tinyprinttuesday with a special print for this year's @openprintexchange A fun little curious crow with a sandpaper collograph. I really love this process, very cool textures, ready to make shaped plates, and it's a low impact method; good recovery after last year's wrist surgery. She just has to dry, and then fly off to Köln! But it does need a title... #printmaking #process #collograph @openpressproject

And just a few days left to join, as registration closes on February 15 at 23:59 CET. ✨ If you are new to this: The Open Print Exchange is our yearly global print swap where creatives from all over the world use their small 3D printed presses to create an edition of 10 prints on 7 x 7 cm paper, send them to us, and receive 9 random prints from other participants in return. So far, we have sorted more than 1,400 editions. That is over 14,000 tiny prints collected, sorted, packed, and shipped around the globe. To give you a sense of that incredible amount, here they are all in one place. ✨ Good luck finding yours if you have participated before! 👀 While this might not be the perfect way to experience each individual print, you can also dive into our new map on the website, browse through the archive, or let the site surprise you by selecting a random print. We absolutely cannot wait to see all the prints that will arrive in the coming weeks and months. Putting together a mini press from @openpressproject and making first print with it🤍 Many of you asked about the mini press from the video with the little bird. In that video, I was working on a different press — it’s quite rare and very expensive. This video shows a great alternative! You can print absolutely everything on it that you would on a big press, just in a postcard-sized format. This is a friendly collaboration. I really love the idea behind this project — making printmaking accessible to everyone — and I genuinely want to support them with this video. #printing #tetrapakprinting #collagraph

We are hosting our fifth international print exchange this year! Participating in the @openprintexchange not only gets you 9 random prints from other participants all over the world and a catalogue featuring all prints from the same year, your print will also be shown in exhibitions worldwide. Last year, we organised 12 exhibitions together with some very kind people in various countries, and it looks like this year might get even busier. ✨ Thank you so much to everyone who has helped organise and set up exhibitions in the past year. It truly makes this exchange even more special. „✨Aus Liebe zum Druck✨ Das Open Press Project auf der BUCHDRUCKKUNST 2026 🗣️ Die Druckerpresse steht seit jeher für Demokratisierung: Mit ihr wurde viel mehr Menschen der Zugriff auf Texte ermöglicht, die westliche Wirtschaft massiv vorangebracht und durch Drucktechnik neue Kunstformen ermöglicht. Und heute? Ist diese Demokratisierung ins Stocken geraten. Druckerpressen sind groß, schwer, teuer und stehen nur wenigen Personenkreisen frei zur Verfügung... 2018 gegründet, möchte das Open Press Project genau dieser Entwicklung entgegenwirken und die Begeisterung für Drucke mit möglichst vielen Menschem teilen. 😌🤝 🤔 Wie das? Mithilfe einer kleinen handlichen Druckerpresse, die im 3D-Druck selbst hergestellt oder zum Selbstkostenpreis bestellt werden kann.
