🌟 What a wonderful Friday! A few of us from Open Arms had the pleasure of attending the @msp.businessjournal Women in Business Expo and Awards Luncheon. We were so proud to celebrate and support powerful women making a difference in our community. Huge congratulations to our very own Leah for being recognized as an honoree! 👏 Your leadership, dedication, and heart for our mission continue to inspire everyone around you. Every Friday, a Memory. Every Year, an Impact. 40 Years of Open Arms. While the final numbers are still being tallied, one thing is crystal clear: attendees of the 22nd annual Moveable Feast, held last Thursday at the North End Event Center, helped raise more than $600,000 in support of our clients. THAT'S A MOVEABLE FEAST RECORD! Here's the thing about Moveable Feast—it defies the typical gala playbook. Instead of serving dinner at the venue, we bring hundreds together and send them out into the night to explore the culinary wonderland of the Twin Cities. It's a mapping puzzle that would make even the most seasoned logistics experts pause. When Moveable Feast was first pitched in 2005, it was billed as a unique and exciting new fundraising concept in celebration of Open Arms' mission. More than 20 years later, that uniqueness is what sets us apart, keeps people coming back, and reminds us why we gladly embrace the challenge every single year. But there's another essential ingredient: the food. The Twin Cities are home to one of the most celebrated restaurant and culinary communities in the country. Open Arms remains immensely proud of the food community in which we operate, and we take great pride in our own kitchens and the staff who create the medically tailored meals that help nourish our clients. For us, this is personal. That's why, over the course of 22 Moveable Feasts, more than 240 restaurants have been perhaps the key ingredient to this extraordinary event. While some are no longer with us, all have played an essential role in helping us generate more than $7 million for the clients we serve through Moveable Feast. Every Friday, a Memory. Every Year, an Impact. 40 Years of Open Arms. A bold new vision for an event was born in the spring of 2005. The traditional fundraising gala—once a typical evening of cocktails, auctions, dinner, and other fundraising activities—was transformed into something truly unique. More than 350 guests, a sellout in its inaugural year, gathered at the Walker Art Center on May 19, buzzing with excitement for the highly anticipated new event: "Dish! A Moveable Feast." An ordinary gala, this was not. Instead of spending the entire evening at a single venue, guests were transported via limousine on a thrilling culinary journey to dozens of restaurants throughout the Twin Cities. This innovative concept was an instant success. From that point forward, the event was renamed simply "Moveable Feast." Now a hallmark of Open Arms, the gala has grown tremendously in scale and popularity while maintaining the spirit of adventure and excitement that made it successful from day one. Today, Moveable Feast raises over $500,000 annually for Open Arms' mission and has brought in more than $6.5 million during its 20+ year run. The success of this event is a testament to the power of innovation and community support. From humble beginnings, the Moveable Feast gala has become a memorable celebration of both food and the possibilities we can achieve when a community comes together.
