“I’ve been using a pair of NU100k’s for the past 5 or 6 years and they have become some of my most used microphones for all sorts of sources. I obviously love them on vocals - particularly on sopranos or vocalists that can sound a bit harsh on other mics - but they have really become my go to’s for woodwinds, string section mics and particularly overheads where I can’t think of a mic that I like more.
Having said that I just got my pair of NU24k’s and I can’t wait to try them on overheads and see if these either beat them or become the alternate favorites for brighter overheads when I want them.
As for the NU24k, after a few weeks with them and trying them on various vocals, I can say that the online hype over them is not exaggerated at all. These truly do have a presence and (to use Martin’s word) glow that is unmatched - even made the vintage Elam 251 we love on a singer I’m doing a record with sound small in comparison.
Both the NU100k’s and NU24k’s are microphones I can’t imagine doing sessions without.”

tomas’s first visit to los panchos, and of course, it didn’t disappoint. my dad has been going there for about 60 years, taking me since i was old enough to eat tacos and now tomas got to try them. truly one of my favorite places to eat ever.
