In preparation for this year’s Black August In The Park, we interviewed the incredible Jeghetto @jeghettos_puppets —a wood alchemist whose artistry not only brings joy to his community but also serves as a bridge between the ancestral and physical world. Today, we pause to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of our brother Rowdy.
More than a rapper; he was a force for change, a mentor, and a friend whose impact extended far beyond the stage.
Rowdy’s enthusiasm and positive attitude were contagious and were only rivaled by his ability to bring people of all ages together.

Joshua “Rowdy” Rowsey, or Mr. R., served as the host of Classroom Connection and was longtime partner of PBS North Carolina. Today, we remember him and honor his impact on our community.
I had the absolute honor to serve as a featured artist with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra!
From producing my original track “The 18th Letter” to performing it in 8 incredible shows alongside such talented musicians was a highlight of my career so far.
Sharing my music with 20,000 NC Public School students, teachers, and the local community - in front of nearly sold out crowds at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts was a moment beyond words.
