One of four series of still-life based on the concept of arousing sustainability through “holistic cuisine.” The senses of food are not just simply transferred through your taste buds, but felt, seen, heard, and smelled through your other four senses. The motive behind the shoot is to help people visually understand the overlap between “food” and “sustainability.” People should see food on our dinner table not as processed and served meals, but as a connection to nature. All ingredients frozen are edible but in raw and rare forms that we don’t see often on our dinner table.
In Rippling Pond, we are inspired by the traditional Chinese lily ponds. Chinese artists and poets often romanticize the blossoming season of the lilies: an array of elegant flowers within a pond of lily pads. We wanted to recreate the serenity and beauty of the lily pond, especially in the night. Our shot hopes to capture the ripples on the clear pond water as full moon was reflected in the gentle waves of the pond.
