We are proud to have marked Labour Day in China by giving back to the people who keep communities moving. On 29th April, we distributed OneSight vision care packages including sunglasses and free vision checks to meal delivery riders across the city — workers who spend their days outdoors, exposed to the elements, often without access to basic eye protection. Good vision keeps them safe on the roads, and they deserve it. A special thank you to Oakley, LensCrafters & Ray-Ban retail stores for your support for the cause and the local government for making this possible. Happy Labour Day. 劳动节快乐。 #LabourDay #EmpoweringHumans

Volunteer Month may be rooted in North America, but the spirit of service knows no borders — so this month, we’re celebrating EssilorLuxottica volunteers around the world who give their time, their skills, and their expertise to bring vision care to communities that need it most. From mobile clinics in France to screenings for the migrant community in Singapore and tribal community clinics in India — our volunteers are making good vision a reality on the ground. Because good vision empowers humans. And behind every pair of glasses, is a person who chose to make it happen. Thank you to all our volunteers!

Reaching the most remote communities with quality vision care is one of the biggest challenges we face — and one of the most important to solve. In Zambia, we are working hand in hand with the Ministry of Health to build a system that can truly reach everyone. 66 vision centers are already in place, but distance and access remain key barriers for many communities. This is where partnership becomes a lever for scale. By integrating our vision care services into the Ministry’s Flying Doctors initiative, together with the Zambia Air Force, we are extending care beyond fixed locations — bringing services directly to people who would otherwise remain excluded. At the same time, we are exploring how tele-refraction can further strengthen this model — connecting expertise, optimizing resources, and unlocking new ways to deliver care at scale. This is not just about reaching more people. It is about building sustainable solutions that can be replicated, strengthened, and embedded into national systems. Because access to vision care should not depend on where you live. #EmpoweringHumans #VisionCare #Zambia

Last month, EssilorLuxottica volunteers rallied to provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in Manchester, UK. This effort was made possible with the support of Simplyhealth and the Manchester Homelessness Partnership. “Homelessness and poor vision are both isolating. Together, they can be devastating. This clinic is about breaking that cycle — because when someone can see clearly, everything else becomes a little more possible.” — Margarida Barata, Europe Programs Director, OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation. #EmpoweringHumans

In Kenya, access to vision care is changing one community at a time. Through our programs, women like Joyce are empowered to bring vision care directly to Yala-Siaya County, reaching people where it matters most. And this is just the beginning. With the launch of the WHO SPECS 2030 initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and WHO, we are taking a decisive step to accelerate access to eye care at scale. Because good vision doesn’t just change what people see. It keeps children in school, supports adults in their daily lives, and helps older adults stay independent. It empowers people. #EmpoweringHumans

Good health starts with good vision. On World Health Day, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access the vision care they need. A pair of glasses keeps children learning, adults earning, and elderly stay independent. It restores confidence, creates role models, strengthens communities, and improves mental health in ways that go far beyond sight. Good vision empowers humans. And everyone deserves it. #WorldHealthDay #EmpoweringHumans

The Youth Indaba is one of Zambia’s most significant platforms for young innovators, a space where young adults come together to present bold ideas directly to national leadership and decision-makers, while raising awareness of issues that shape the country’s future. One of those is vision care; a simple intervention that helps people learn, work and live more independently. This year, RECSY Optical Solutions was among only five exhibitors selected to showcase their work. With support from the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, this team of young Zambian optometrists has built 23 optical clinics across rural communities. They are bringing eye exams, glasses and treatment to people who have never had access before, using innovative models that expand access to care. It was an honour to share that impact directly with President Hichilema, helping raise national awareness of vision care and the role young leaders can play in delivering it. The President recognised RECSY’s work as a model for what young Zambians can achieve. We look forward to building on this momentum and keeping young people in Zambia and beyond engaged in the work ahead.

Good vision shapes how children perform in school, build friendships, and engage with the world around them - yet for too many children, access to glasses remains out of reach. That’s why we work directly with schools and communities across nine regions globally to bring vision screenings and glasses to students who need them. This year, our China team is scaling up in a big way - visiting 13 provinces and regions to provide an estimated 20,000 pairs of glasses to students across the country. We kicked off last month in Yongsheng County, Yunnan Province, with a team of ophthalmologist and optometrist volunteers, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum throughout the year. #EmpoweringHumans #GoodVisionChangesEverything

This International Women’s Day, we reflect on an inequity that demands action - women are more prone to vision health issues and face more barriers to accessing vision health services than men. Our programs are built to change that. But we don’t stop there. Thousands of women are empowered through the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation to provide vision care services in their own communities - growing their incomes as an independent entrepreneur, earning greater respect, and bringing eye care back to the places that need it most. To all the women who wear glasses, who fit them, who champion vision care every day - thank you. #InternationalWomensDay

Belize has officially launched WHO SPECS 2030, a global framework to expand access to vision care for people who need it most. At a national workshop last month, government ministers, eye health experts, and international partners came together to align on national priorities and strengthen eye health services across the country. We’re proud to stand alongside @who , Ministry of Health and Wellness, Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, and @bcvi as Belize advances toward a future where everyone can see clearly. #SPECS2030 #EmpoweringHumans

“If someone can’t see, how are they supposed to work?” Meet Sabiha, an artisan who has spent decades working on Sozni embroidery, a Kashmiri tradition known for its fine, detailed patterns. In partnership with HELP Foundation, vision care reached Sabiha and many others like her - supporting her ability to keep working with the skill and care Sozni demands, and to pass the tradition on, one generation at a time.

Every day, Foundation teams around the world work with incredible community partners to make sure care is delivered to those who need it most. One of those partners in South Australia is the Hutt Street Centre, where people experiencing homelessness can access meals, showers, lockers, and more than 20 visiting health and support services to help them rebuild their lives. For the past 13 years, we’ve been visiting Hutt Street Centre on a regular basis thanks to Foundation volunteer and iChampion Marty Holmes, who established the relationship with HSC and has been coordinating an annual clinics there ever since. Marty has been an @opsm employee for 42 years and has inspired countless OPSM and EssilorLuxottica employees to donate their time and expertise to ensure vision care is available to all. A big thank you to all partners, volunteers, and supporters who make activities like this possible! #EmpoweringHumans #GoodVisionChangesEverything
